The Alternative for Bulgarian Revival ( bg, Алтернатива за българско възраждане, Alternativa za balgarsko vazrazhdane, АБВ) is a centre-left political party in Bulgaria. ''ABV'', the romanized party's initials in Bulgarian, are the first three letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, equivalent to ''ABC''. A social-democratic party, it holds pro-European and "quasi-nationalist social conservative" views. History The party was founded and is led by Georgi Parvanov, who was the president of Bulgaria from 2002 to 2012, as a splinter from the Bulgarian Socialist Party. In the May 2014 European Parliament election in Bulgaria, the party received 4% of the vote, failing to elect any Member of the European Parliament. Rumen Yordanov Petkov ( bg, Румен Йорданов Петков) (born 23 June 1961) is a Bulgarian politician. Biography Prior to turning to politics, Petkov received an education in mathematics, studying the subject at the mathematics high school in Pleven and Plovdiv University. He served as mayor of Pleven between 1995 and 1999. Petkov was a member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party until 7 March 2014, but is currently affiliated with ABV. The rumen, also known as a paunch, is the largest stomach compartment in ruminants and the larger part of the reticulorumen, which is the first chamber in the alimentary canal of ruminant animals. The rumen's microbial favoring environment allows it to serve as the primary site for microbial fermentation of ingested feed. The smaller part of the reticulorumen is the reticulum, which is fully continuous with the rumen, but differs from it with regard to the texture of its lining. Brief anatomy The rumen is composed of several muscular sacs, the cranial sac, ventral sac, ventral blindsac, and reticulum. The lining of the rumen wall is covered in small fingerlike projections called papillae, which are flattened, approximately 5mm in length and 3mm wide in cattle. The National Assembly ( bg, Народно събрание, Narodno sabranie) is the unicameral parliament and legislative body of the Republic of Bulgaria.
