Alternate Concepts, Inc. (ACI) is a transit management company within the United States. It is currently headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts and provides services to four rail authorities. Between 2003 and 2014, ACI also operated the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's commuter rail system. Additionally, Alternate Concepts is planned to operate MTA Maryland's Purple Line. History Alternate Concepts was founded in 1989 by three former employees of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, James F. O’Leary, Richard Brown and Jane Daly. The MBTA Commuter Rail system serves as the commuter rail arm of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's transportation coverage of Greater Boston in the United States. Purple Line (Maryland)
The Purple Line is a light rail line being built to link several Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.: Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton. Hartford Line
The Hartford Line is a commuter rail service between New Haven, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts, using the Amtrak-owned New Haven–Springfield Line. The project is a joint venture between the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts, with support from the federal government as well. CT Rail-branded trains provide service along the corridor, and riders can use Hartford Line tickets to travel on board most Amtrak trains along the corridor at the same prices. TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is an American commuter rail corporation headquartered in St Joseph, Missouri. Corporate history In November 2002, Herzog Contracting Corp. and Stagecoach Group announced a corporate partnership to form TransitAmerica. In 2004, Stagecoach transferred its interest in the partnership to Herzog. On May 13, 2005, TransitAmerica was officially incorporated in the State of Missouri. Valley Metro Rail (styled as METRO) is a light rail line serving the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa in Arizona, USA.
