Alpine is an unincorporated community in Chattooga County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. The community is located on the northwest side of the Broomtown Valley in northwest Georgia, southeast of Menlo. It is on Georgia Route 337 north of Alpine Creek. Chattooga County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 24,965. According to the World Population Review, as of 2021, it is estimated at 24,803. The county seat is Summerville. The county was created on December 28, 1838. Chattooga County comprises the Summerville, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Rome-Summerville Combined Statistical Area. Menlo is a small city in Chattooga County, Georgia, United States. The population was 474 at the 2010 census. History Menlo was platted in 1883. A post office called Menlo has been in operation since 1886. The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Menlo as a town in 1903. State Route 337 (SR 337) is a state highway that travels southwest-to-northeast in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels from the Alabama state line southwest of Menlo, where the roadway continues as Cherokee County Road 99, northeastward through Broomtown Valley at the foot of Lookout Mountain. The route reaches its northern terminus at US 27/ SR 1 south of LaFayette, though the route previously terminated in LaFayette.
