''Alpha'' is the eighth studio album by American Christian metal band War of Ages. It was released on December 8, 2017, and was produced by Jason Suecof (August Burns Red, All That Remains, Trivium). It is the first release by the band to not include drummer Alex Hamp, as he had left the group and was replaced by Alex Rüdinger as session drummer. The album displays more of a progressive metal influence than previous releases. War of Ages (sometimes abbreviated WoA; formerly known as Point Zero) is an American Christian metal band formed in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 2002. The band's self-titled debut album ''War of Ages'' was released in 2005, and in February 2006, they were moved to the Facedown Records roster and recorded their second full-length album, ''Pride of the Wicked'', released in September 2006. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Jason Suecof (born April 3, 1980) is an American record producer, audio engineer and guitarist best known for his work with heavy metal bands such as Trivium, Battlecross, Death Angel, All That Remains, Bury Your Dead, The Black Dahlia Murder, and The Autumn Offering. In addition, Suecof also has been the guitarist for heavy metal bands Capharnaum and Charred Walls of the Damned. ''Supreme Chaos'' is the seventh studio album by American Christian metal band War of Ages, released through Facedown Records July 22, 2014. War of Ages worked with Joshua Barber on the production of the album. Reception Signaling in a four star review by '' HM Magazine'', Reid Olson responds, "The guitar riffs rip, the drumming drives and altogether, Supreme Chaos causes barely controlled headbanging. August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formed in 2003. The band's current lineup consists of lead guitarist John Benjamin "JB" Brubaker, rhythm guitarist Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner, lead vocalist Jake Luhrs and bassist Dustin Davidson. All That Remains is an American heavy metal band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1998. They have released nine studio albums, a live CD and DVD, and have sold over a million records worldwide. The group currently consists of vocalist Philip Labonte, rhythm guitarist Mike Martin, former Diecast drummer Jason Costa, and lead guitarist Jason Richardson, with Labonte being the last remaining original member.
