Aloysius Yapp
Aloysius Yapp (; zh, s=叶浚惟, p=Yè Jùnwéi; born 2 May 1996) is a Singaporean professional pool player. He was world junior champion in nine-ball in 2014 and runner-up in the 2021 U.S. Open Pool Championship. Career Yapp began playing pool at age eight. An alumnus of Saint Patrick's School, he dropped out of school in 2011 to turn professional, although he eventually completed his GCE Ordinary Level examinations at Coleman College. Reportedly the first professional pool player from Singapore, he won the inaugural Asian Junior Pool Championship in 2014. Later that year, he became the first Singaporean to claim a world title in pool when he won the World Junior Pool Championships (Under-19) in Shanghai, China, beating Hsu Jui-an 11–10. WPA World Nine-ball Championship
The WPA World Nine-ball Championship is an annual professional nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1990. The championship is sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and principally sponsored and organised by Matchroom Sport, who provide the event's official website branded as World Pool Championship. The championship is divided into men's, women's and wheelchair divisions. History In the summer of 1989, the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) began plans for a world championship tournament. The group sent invitations, rules, sports regulations and by-laws. Reception was positive, and a provisional Board was created. Shane Van Boening (; born July 14, 1983) is an American professional pool player from Rapid City, South Dakota. As of 2022, Van Boening is the number 1 ranked player in the "World Rankings" published by the Matchroom Pool and the "WPA Rankings" published by the World Pool-Billiard Association. Van Boening is a winner of over 100 professional titles. Van Boening has a hearing impairment and uses a hearing aid, but it does not affect his pool ability. Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler (born 2 October 1997) is a German pool player from Bönen, Germany. In 2018 Filler defeated Carlo Biado 13–10 to win the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The same year he was the youngest player to win the China Open and 2018 10-ball European Pool Championships. Filler became WPA and Euro Tour world number 1 in 2019, and later reached the final of the 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship before losing 10–7 to Ko Ping-chung. Wojciech Szewczyk (Born 1 September 1994) is a Polish professional pool player. Szewczyk is a two time junior European Pool Championship winner, winning the 8-ball event in 2010, defeating Finn Eschment in the final, and the 9-ball event in 2011 defeating Lars Kuckherm in the final. Jayson Shaw (born 13 September 1990 in Glasgow) is a Scottish pool player. In 2010, Shaw was a WPA World Blackball Champion. In 2016, Shaw won the 25th International Challenge of Champions event. WPA World Ten-ball Championship
The WPA World Ten-ball Championship is a professional ten-ball pool tournament sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). The event was first held in 2008 in the Philippines, followed by playings there in 2009 and 2011. After not being contested for several years, it was resurrected in 2015 by boxer Manny Pacquiao, who successfully campaigned to the WPA for the championship to be moved from Metro Manila to General Santos. An event was announced in June 2018, but was postponed until relocating to the Las Vegas Valley in 2019. The scheduled 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent playings have been held in the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. Peter Gilchrist (born 1968 in Middlesbrough) is an English-born Singaporean English billiards player. He won the World Billiards Championship (English billiards) in 1994, 2001, and 2013 (long format), and 2019. Career Peter Gilchrist played in Teesside Boys Billiards League as a youth. he was the English Amateur Champion in 1988. He won the World Billiards Championship (English billiards) in 1994, 2001, 2013 (long format) and 2019. He has won International Billiards and Snooker Federation world titles in 2015 (short format), 2016 and 2019 (long up).
