Aloyse Michalesi
Aloyse Michalesi, married name Aloyse Krebs-Michalesi, also Aloysia Krebs-Michalesi (29 August 1824 – 5 August 1904) was a German operatic contralto. Life Michalesi was born in Prague. Her parents were the opera bassist Wenzel Michalesi (Czech: ''Václav Michalička''; 1794-1836) and his wife Josefine (d 1845), a singer. Michalesi's younger sister Josefine Michalesi (1 September 1826 in Brno - 13 October 1892), became a soprano. Her parents were members of the Prague Opera, leaving it in 1829 and embarking on art tours, eventually coming to the Staatstheater Mainz. When her father died there in 1836, the family had to rely on Aloyse for extra income. She received lessons in stage singing from her mother, the theatre's first singer. When her mother went to London with Schumann's opera company in 1840, her daughter accompanied her. Ernestine Schumann-Heink (15 June 186117 November 1936) was a Bohemian-born Austrian-American operatic dramatic contralto of German Bohemian descent. She was noted for the flexibility and wide range of her voice. Early life She was born Ernestine Amalie Pauline Rössler on 15 June 1861 to a German language, German-speaking family at Libeň (german: Lieben), Bohemia, Austrian Empire, which is now part of the city of Prague, Czech Republic. She was baptized Catholic Church, Catholic five days later. Her father, who called his daughter "Tini", was Hans Rössler. Before working as a Shoemaking, shoe maker, he served as an Austrian Empire, Austrian cavalry officer. Alfred Heinrich Ehrlich (5 October 1822, in Vienna – 30 December 1899, in Berlin) was a pianist, composer and writer on music. As a composer, he came forward with a ''Piano Concerto'' and ''Piano Variations on an Original Theme,'' being one of the first composers to collect Romanian folk melodies. Life Ehrlich finished his high school of music under the leadership of Adolf Henselt, Karl Maria von Bocklet and Sigismund Thalberg and composition with Simon Sechter. From 1840 to 1844 he performed in Hungary, Romania and Vienna. In 1848, he became correspondent for the '' Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung'', pianist of King George V of Hanover in 1852, moving to Wiesbaden in 1855. Two years later he went to England and finally settled in Berlin in 1862. There he acquired an excellent reputation as a piano player of Beethoven's compositions.
