Alok Ranjan
Alok Ranjan (born 9 March 1956) is a retired 1978 batch IAS officer from the U.P Cadre. He retired on 1 July 2016 after holding the office of Chief Secretary for the Government of Uttar Pradesh for over two years. After retirement, he was appointed as the Chief Adviser to Chief Minister of U.P and Chairman U.P.S.I.D.C (Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation). The Chief Secretary is the top-most executive official and senior-most civil servant of the state government. The Indian Express
''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. In 1999, eight years after the group's founder Ramnath Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members. The southern editions took the name ''The New Indian Express'', while the northern editions, based in Mumbai, retained the original ''Indian Express'' name with ''"The"'' prefixed to the title.
