Alnarp () is a village and university campus in Lomma Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, lying between Lund and Malmö. The first written mention of Alnarp is from 1325. In 1674 it became the official residence of the governor-general of Scania. In 1862, the existing Alnarp Castle was built to house a new school of agronomy, now part of the Alnarp campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Alnarp also housed the headquarters of the NordGen. The park at Alnarp Castle is famous for its great diversity of tree species. Lomma Municipality
Lomma Municipality ( sv, Lomma kommun) is a municipality in Skåne County in southern Sweden, about 10 km north of Malmö. Its seat is located in Lomma with secondary locality Bjärred being of almost equal population size. The present municipality was created through the amalgamation of the market town ''Lomma'' and the rural municipality ''Flädie''. It took place in 1963, between the two nationwide local government reforms of 1952 and 1971. Alnarp Castle
Alnarp Castle ( sv, Alnarps slott) is located in Alnarp, Lomma Municipality, Scania, approximately 10 km north of Malmö in southern Sweden. The original castle on the property was built in the 12th century. The present building was erected in 1862, in French Renaissance style. History The castle was first mentioned in the 12th century. In 1325 Alnarp came into the possession of a knight named Anders Pedersen, and then Aage Nielsen Ulfeldt in the early 15th century. In 1449, Alnarp passed into the ownership of Niels Stigsen Thott. The Ulfeldt and the Thott families were members of the Scanian nobility. The castle eventually passed to the Krummedige family, and in 1500 it was owned by Erik Krummedige, a cousin of Henrik Krummedige, and an advisor to the Danish king. Horticultural therapy (also known as garden therapy or social and therapeutic horticulture or STH) is defined by the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA) as the engagement of a person in gardening and plant-based activities, facilitated by a trained therapist, to achieve specific therapeutic treatment goals.
