Almoçageme
Almoçageme (pronounced: Al-mu-sa-jè-mê) is a village on the Portuguese municipality of Sintra and in the Freguesia of Colares. The name Almoçageme is obviously Arab in origin – the Iberian peninsula is packed with Muslim toponyms that are a legacy of the five hundred years the Moors stayed over. One possible root is from ''al-masjid'' or ''al-mesijide'', meaning “the mosque” – although there are no testimonies of one having been around. Local festivities honoring Nossa Senhora da Graça take place on the first Sunday of October and last eight days. There are Roman ruins of a “villa” in this most occidental spot of the Roman Empire, dating from the 2nd century CE. These were unearthed in 1905 during the construction of a road (Estrada do Rodizio) linking Almoçageme with the spectacular beach of Praia Grande. Roman Villa Of Santo André De Almoçageme
The Roman ruins of Santo Andre de Almoçageme ( pt, Ruinas romanas de Santo Andre de Almoçageme) is a Portuguese archaeological site located in the rural civil parish of Colares, in the municipality of Sintra. It includes a group of structures with typological, stylistic or historic value, whose structural elements are worthy of preservation. History The settlement was constructed between the 3rd and 5th centuries. In the 17th century a funerary inscription, unrelated to the physical structures was discovered, implying a more intricate history. In 1905, a polychromatic mosaic was discovered, in addition to artefacts linked to its Roman history. The first official archaeological excavations began between 1980 and 1990: these excavations exposed a large area of the main house (''pars urbana'') that included several rooms with mosaic pavements to the north (that included peristyle). Ancient Rome

Archaeological Museum Of São Miguel De Odrinhas
The Archaeological Museum of São Miguel de Odrinhas in Sintra municipality, Lisbon District, Portugal owes its existence to the collection by the Hermitage of São Miguel of Epigraphy, epigraphic stones found amongst the Roman ruins in the neighbourhood. Around the year 30 B.C. Olisipo (Roman Lisbon) received from Augustus the status that allowed it to combine Roman law with its own ancient laws, thus permitting full integration into the Roman Empire. Most of its important families lived outside Lisbon in villas and many of the estates were located in the Sintra area. In 1955, Sintra Town Council first proposed the construction of a small museum to bring together in Odrinhas the collection of the Hermitage, which had by then been dispersed, as well as items discovered more recently. Praia Grande () is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Baixada Santista. The population is 330,845 (2020 est.) in an area of 149.25 km². Villa
A villa is a type of house that was originally an ancient Roman upper class country house. Since its origins in the Roman villa, the idea and function of a villa have evolved considerably. After the fall of the Roman Republic, villas became small farming compounds, which were increasingly fortified in Late Antiquity, sometimes transferred to the Church for reuse as a monastery. Then they gradually re-evolved through the Middle Ages into elegant upper-class country homes.
