Almida De Val
Almida Winquist de Val (born 12 September 1997) is a Swedish curler from Sundbyberg. She currently plays third and is vice skip on Team Isabella Wranå, also known as Team Panthera. With this team, she won a gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships. de Val has studied engineering at the Swedish Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, where she received her Master's degree in 2021. Career Juniors de Val played in the World Junior Curling Championships in 2014, 2017 and 2018 as a member of Team Isabella Wranå. In 2014, her team of Isabella Wranå, Jennie Wåhlin, Elin Lövstrand, and Fanny Sjöberg had a fourth-place finish after they lost in the bronze medal game to Russia. de Val was the alternate on the team but played no games. She was back at the event in 2017 as the official second of the team, replacing Lövstrand. 2022 Players' Championship
The 2022 Players' Championship, Princess Auto Players' Championship was held April 12–17 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario. It was the fourth Grand Slam of Curling, Grand Slam and final major of the 2021–22 curling season, following the cancellation of the Open (curling), Meridian Open. Despite feeling ill in the final due to food poisioning, Anna Hasselborg led her team to their seventh Grand Slam title, and completed a career Grand Slam, becoming the first women's team to do so. Qualification The top 16 ranked men's and women's teams on the World Curling Federation's world team rankings qualified for the event. 2017 Winter Universiade
Winter Universiade 2017, the XXVIII Winter Universiade, was a multi-sport winter event which took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 29 January to 8 February 2017. On 29 November 2011, FISU announced that Winter Universiade 2017 would be hosted in Almaty. Student-athletes from all over the world between the ages of 17 and 28 arrived in Almaty to take part in Winter Universiade organized by FISU. Kaitlyn Jones (born March 21, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Juniors Born in Thompson, Manitoba, Jones curled out of Chilliwack, British Columbia, New Aiyansh, British Columbia and Ontario before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she competed in Saskatchewan's provincial junior championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017, winning in a provincial title in her last attempt. Her team of Sara England, Rayann Zerr and Shantel Hutton represented the province at the 2017 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, she led her team to a 5–5 record, missing the playoffs. The following season, Jones moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to skip a team of 2016 World Junior champions Kristin Clarke and Karlee Burgess along with Lindsey Burgess. Sophie Jackson
Sophie Jackson (born 22 July 1996, in Dumfries) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays lead on Team Rebecca Morrison. Career Juniors Jackson twice skipped Team Scotland at the World Junior Curling Championships. Her first was in 2016, when she led her team of Naomi Brown, Rachael Halliday and Rachel Hannen to a 2-7 record. This relegated Scotland to the World Junior-B Curling Championships for the following season. In 2017, she once again skipped the Scottish junior team. She and teammates of Brown, Mili Smith and Sophie Sinclair won the Junior B championships, earning the right to represent Scotland at the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships. At the World Juniors, her team continued her winning ways, finishing the round robin tied with Sweden's Isabella Wranå rink for first with a 7-2 record. Fanny Sjöberg
Fanny Birgitta Josefin Sjöberg (born 5 November 1997) is a Swedish curler from Stockholm. She played lead on Team Isabella Wranå from 2007 to 2021, at which point she decided to step back from competitive curling. Career Sjöberg played in the World Junior Curling Championships in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 as a member of Team Isabella Wranå. In 2014, her team of Isabella Wranå, Jennie Wåhlin, Elin Lövstrand and Almida de Val had a fourth-place finish, after they lost in the bronze medal game to Russia. In 2015, she and teammates Wranå, Wåhlin, Johanna Heldin and Johanna Höglund again finished fourth after this time losing to Switzerland in the bronze medal game. She was back at the event in 2017 where her team won the gold medal, defeating Scotland's Sophie Jackson in the final, and lost just two round robin games in the process. Sundbyberg
Sundbyberg Municipality (''Sundbybergs kommun'' or ''Sundbybergs stad'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, just north of the capital Stockholm. Sundbyberg is wholly within the Stockholm urban area and has a 100% urban population.
