Allscott Heath Football Club is a football club based in Allscott, Shropshire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Allscott Sports & Social Club, Allscott. History Allscott Heath were formed as Atlas in 2010, joining the Shropshire County League. In 2011, the club changed their name to Allscott, remaining in the league. In 2016, after a spell in the Mercian Regional League, Allscott joined the West Midlands (Regional) League, gaining promotion to Division One a year later. In 2019, the club renamed themselves to Allscott Heath. In 2023, the club was admitted into the Midland League Division One. Allscott
Allscott is a small village north west of Wellington, Shropshire. The River Tern flows by. It falls within the parish of Wrockwardine and the borough of Telford and Wrekin. Nearby is the small village of Walcot. Etymology The name derives of Aldescote which translates as ''Aldred's Cottage''. Recent history In 1927, a sugar beet factory (which came to be owned by British Sugar), once stood in the village and was a major local employer. One of the small steam locomotives that used to work in the factory has been preserved at the Foxfield Railway in Staffordshire. The factory buildings have been demolished since its closure and in 2015, an application to build 470 homes on the site was granted permission by Telford and Wrekin Council. Concerns about overcrowded roads have led to calls for a railway station to be opened on the site as it is adjacent to the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton Line, but the developers have stated that a railway station is not in their plans. The Shropshire County Premier Football League was an English association football league based in the county of Shropshire. The league, usually known as the Shropshire County League, was founded in 1950 and in the final season had two divisions which sat at levels 13 and 14 of the English football league system. It was dissolved in May 2012 and all member clubs transferred to a new, larger Mercian Regional Football League for the 2012–13 season. Clubs who won this league were promoted to the West Midlands (Regional) League (all champions 2008–2012 were), although on occasion teams (such as Shifnal Town in 1993) instead moved into the Midland Football Combination.
