Creptotrema
''Creptotrema'' is a genus of Trematoda belonging to the family Allocreadiidae.Travassos L, Artigas P, Pereira C. 1928. Fauna helminthologica dos peixes de agua doce do Brasil. Archivos do Instituto Biológico de Defesa Agricola e Animal, 1, 5–68. The genus was first described by Travassos, Artigas & Pereira in 1928. Its type-species is ''Creptotrema creptotrema'' Travassos, Artigas & Pereira, 1928. According to a molecular and morphological study by Franceschini et al. (2021), ''Creptotrema'' is a monophyletic genus of trematodes widely distributed across the Americas, which currently comprises 19 valid species of parasites of teleost fish and anurans. Plagiorchiida
Plagiorchiida is a large order of trematodes, synonymous to Echinostomida. They belong to the Digenea, a large subclass of flukes. This order contains relatively few significant parasites of humans. The following families are placed here, organised by superfamily and suborder:Jones, A., Bray, R. A., & Gibson, D. I. (Eds.). (2002). ''Keys to the Trematoda'' (Vol. 1). Allocreadium
''Allocreadium'' is a genus of trematodes belonging to the family Allocreadiidae. The genus was first described by Arthur Looss in 1900. The genus has almost cosmopolitan distribution In biogeography, cosmopolitan distribution is the term for the range of a taxon that extends across all or most of the world in appropriate habitats. Such a taxon, usually a species, is said to exhibit cosmopolitanism or cosmopolitism. The ext .... Flatworm
The flatworms, flat worms, Platyhelminthes, or platyhelminths (from the Greek πλατύ, ''platy'', meaning "flat" and ἕλμινς (root: ἑλμινθ-), ''helminth-'', meaning "worm") are a phylum of relatively simple bilaterian, unsegmented, soft-bodied invertebrates. Unlike other bilaterians, they are acoelomates (having no body cavity), and have no specialized circulatory and respiratory organ (anatomy), organs, which restricts them to having flattened shapes that allow oxygen and nutrients to pass through their bodies by diffusion. The digestive cavity has only one opening for both ingestion (intake of nutrients) and egestion (removal of undigested wastes); as a result, the food cannot be processed continuously. In traditional medicinal texts, Platyhelminthes are divided into Turbellaria, which are mostly non-parasitic animals such as planarians, and three entirely parasitic groups: Cestoda, Trematoda and Monogenea; however, since the turbellarians have since been prove ...
