Allisen Corpuz
Allisen Corpuz (born March 20, 1998) is an American professional golfer and member of the LPGA Tour. She won the 2023 U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach. Early life, college and amateur career Corpuz, born to a Filipino father from the Ilocos Region and a Korean mother, is a Hawaii native and attended the Punahou School in Honolulu. A golf prodigy, she was a three-time AJGA All-American. In 2008, she surpassed Michelle Wie as the youngest qualifier in U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links history at 10 years, 3 months and 9 days, and was featured in ''The New York Times'' under the headline "Golf's Next Wave". Charley Esmee Hull (born 20 March 1996) is an English professional golfer who has achieved success both on the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour, winning honours as Rookie of the Year, becoming the youngest competitor to participate in the international Solheim Cup matches and becoming a champion on the European circuit in 2014 before the age of 18. Pelican Women's Championship
The ANNIKA, formerly the Pelican Women's Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in Florida on the LPGA Tour. A new event in 2020, it was played at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair near Tampa. Nelly Korda won the 2021 event in a playoff over defending champion Kim Sei-young, Lexi Thompson, and Lydia Ko. The 2022 event was scheduled to be held November 10–13, but the Thursday, November 10 start date was eliminated due to the approach of Hurricane Nicole with rain and strong winds, and the tournament was shortened to 54 holes. ISPS Handa World Invitational
The ISPS Handa World Invitational was a professional golf tournament that featured on the European Tour, the Challenge Tour, the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. History The event was created in 2019 and involved separate events for both men and women, both having the same prize money. The men's event featured on the Challenge Tour schedule. Jack Senior won the men's event in a playoff over Matthew Baldwin. Stephanie Meadow won the women's event, beating Charley Hull by one shot. No tournament was played in 2020. The Women's World Golf Rankings, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Rolex Rankings, were introduced in February 2006. Q-School
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage. World Amateur Golf Rankings
The World Amateur Golf Ranking for men was introduced by The R&A, the governing body of the sport of golf outside the United States and Mexico, on 23 January 2007. It is based on the results of over 2,600 amateur tournaments per year (and amateurs participating in certain professional events) and is updated each Wednesday. Rankings are based on the players' average performances in counting events over a rolling period. This period was 52 weeks initially but was gradually expanded during 2016 to 104 weeks, similar to those of the Official World Golf Ranking. Like the Official World Golf Ranking for male professional golfers, the amateur ranking was initiated by The R&A to provide a more reliable means of selecting an appropriate field for one of its tournaments. Rachel Kuehn
Rachel Kuehn (born June 6, 2001) is an American amateur golfer. Early life and family Kuehn was born 2001 in Asheville, North Carolina to an athletic family. Her grandfather Jack Corrie represented Venezuela in the 1958 Eisenhower Trophy and played golf and basketball at MIT. Her mother, Brenda Corrie Kuehn, was a Hall of Fame golfer at Wake Forest and represented both her native Dominican Republic and the USA in the Espirito Santo Trophy a total of four times, as well as two Curtis Cups. Her father, Eric, and two uncles were Division I baseball players. Her brother Corrie played collegiate golf at Rhodes College. Kuehn herself was a state champion in tennis before focusing on golf.
