Michael Allardice (born 19 October 1991) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a lock for in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup and the in the international Super Rugby competition. Early career Born in the rural town of Taihape in the centre of New Zealand's north island in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, he moved to the area's biggest town, Palmerston North for school and attended Palmerston North Boys' High School where he played first XV rugby. Scott Allardice (born 31 March 1998) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Scottish club Ross County. He began his career with Dundee United, making his first team debut in April 2017. He spent loan spells with East Fife and Dumbarton in 2018 before joining Bohemians in 2019. In 2020 he joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle and player there until 2023, when he joined their Highland rivals Ross County. He has represented the Scotland national under-19 team. Robert Edgar Allardice FRSE (1862 – 1928) was a Scottish mathematician, specializing in geometry. Biography Allardice matriculated in 1879 at the University of Edinburgh and received there in 1882 an M.A. in mathematics. In 1883 Allardice became assistant in mathematics to Professor George Chrystal at the University of Edinburgh and remained there until 1892. In 1892 Allardice was appointed a professor to Stanford University at the start of the University's second year and immediately became the head of the mathematics department, continuing in that position until his retirement in 1927. For many years, the senior faculty in mathematics at Stanford University consisted of Allardice and Rufus Green. The Stanford mathematics department, with Allardice as head, recruited Hans Frederick Blichfeldt and George Abram Miller. On 16 January 1888 he was elected A Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Robert Barclay Allardice
Robert Barclay Allardice of Ury (25 August 1779, Stonehaven, Kincardineshire – 8 May 1854), generally known as Captain Barclay, was a notable Scottish walker of the early 19th century, known as the celebrated pedestrian. His most famous feat was walking 1000 miles in 1000 hours for 1000 guineas in 1809. He is considered the father of the 19th-century sport of pedestrianism, a precursor to racewalking. He should not be confused with his father, who had assumed the name Robert Barclay Allardice and undertook the first redevelopment of the town of Stonehaven. Geoff Allardice (born 7 May 1967) is an Australian former cricketer and administrator, who served as the CEO and General Manager of Cricket for the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was made the acting CEO in March 2021, taking the role on in a full-time capacity from November 2021. In April 2022, the ICC appointed Wasim Khan as their General Manager, taking over from Allardice. Allardice played 14 first-class cricket matches for Victoria between 1991 and 1994. Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America based on evidence which was published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV. Results of testing for HIV genetic material were reported once at a scientific conference in Australia in 1999; however, the data has never been published in a peer-reviewed medical or scientific journal.
