Allan Moore (born 25 December 1964) is a Scottish association football, football player and manager (association football), manager. Playing career During his playing career he turned out for several Scottish clubs including Dumbarton F.C., Dumbarton, Heart of Midlothian F.C., Heart of Midlothian, St Johnstone F.C., St Johnstone, Partick Thistle F.C., Partick Thistle and Greenock Morton F.C., Morton. Management career Moore was appointed manager of Stirling Albion in 2002, succeeding Ray Stewart (Scottish footballer), Ray Stewart. At this time, the club was languishing at second bottom of the Scottish Football League Third Division, Third Division. Scottish Football League Third Division
The Scottish Football League Third Division was the fourth tier of the Scottish football league system between 1994 and 2013. History The Scottish football league system had operated with three divisions in the Scottish Football League (SFL) from 1975. In 1994, as part of reconstruction to allow the admission of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County to the league, the SFL was recalibrated to give four divisions of 10 teams. The fourth tier was named the Third Division. In 1998, the Premier Division (top flight) clubs broke away to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL). Stirlingshire Cup
The Stirlingshire Cup is an association football cup competition for clubs in the county of Stirlingshire, Scotland. The competition was founded in 1883 and is contested annually by senior member clubs of the Stirlingshire Football Association. The current champions are Stenhousemuir F.C. who defeated East Stirlingshire in the 2014–15 tournament final. Format The competition is a knock-out tournament contested by the six member clubs of the Stirlingshire Football Association. In the first round draw, two teams receive byes into the semi-final with the remaining four clubs paired against each other. Paul Cherry
Paul Robert Cherry (born 14 October 1964) is a former professional footballer. Although he was born in England, Cherry, a midfielder, played the entirety of his career in Scotland. Career Cherry began his career at Hearts in 1983. Three years later, after making only a handful of appearances for the ''Jambos'', he moved to Cowdenbeath. The deal did not involve a cash transaction but witnessed the ''Blue Brazil'' relinquish their rights to a future sell-on fee for Craig Levein, whom they had sold to Hearts in 1983. After making 70 appearances and scoring 13 goals for Cowden, Cherry signed for Alex Totten's St Johnstone. He remained at Muirton Park, firstly, and then McDiarmid Park, for eight years, clocking up over 200 league appearances. He played under two other managers during his time in Perth - John McClelland and Paul Sturrock. Jim Duffy (footballer)
James Duffy (born 27 April 1959) is a Scottish football coach and former player, who is currently in his second spell as manager of Scottish League One club Clyde. During his playing career he played for Celtic, Greenock Morton, Dundee (three spells) and Partick Thistle. His managerial career has involved spells with Falkirk, Hibernian, Dundee (two spells – first as player-manager), Brechin City, Greenock Morton, Dumbarton and Ayr United. Duffy also had a brief Director of Football role at Hearts and an extensive coaching career including spells in English football. Playing career Duffy was born in Glasgow, growing up in the Maryhill area of the city (specifically the Wyndford estate) where he was a childhood friend and neighbour of Charlie Nicholas. Scottish League Two
The Scottish League Two, known as cinch League Two for sponsorship reasons, is the fourth tier of the Scottish Professional Football League, the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish League Two was established in July 2013, after the Scottish Professional Football League was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. Since the 2014–15 season, the bottom team has entered a play-off against the winner of a play-off between the winners of the Highland and Lowland Leagues for a place in the following season's competition. Danny Lennon
Danny Lennon (born 6 April 1969) is a Scottish football manager and former player, who was most recently the manager of Scottish League One club Clyde. In his playing career he is best known for his spells at Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle. He also experienced international football with the Northern Ireland B side during his spell at Raith. Lennon began his managerial career with Cowdenbeath, the club where he ended his playing days. After a successful period with the Fife club, he was appointed St Mirren manager in 2010. He won the 2012–13 Scottish League Cup with St Mirren, but his contract was not renewed when it expired in 2014. After a caretaker spell in charge of the Scotland under-21s, he managed Alloa Athletic during 2015. Greenock Telegraph
The Greenock Telegraph is a local daily newspaper serving Inverclyde (the council area containing the towns of Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow), Scotland. Founded in 1857, it was the first halfpenny daily newspaper in Britain. It was for a time Greenock Telegraph and Clyde Shipping Gazette, owing to the massive amount of maritime traffic moving in and out of Greenock's harbours. This information is still published, but only as a column entry. Originally based in Charles Street, Greenock, the printing works were bombed during the Greenock Blitz in May 1941. However the printers worked on to produce emergency editions, despite sustaining multiple cuts from the shattered glass lodged in the presses. Duncan Douglas Foulds Rae (14 June 1931 – 23 June 2018), commonly known as Douglas Rae, was a Scottish businessman. The 2006–07 Second Division season is the twelfth season of the Scottish Second Division in its current format of ten teams. Greenock Morton were promoted to the First Division as League champions. Stirling Albion, Raith Rovers and Brechin City enter the promotion/relegation playoffs for a place in the First Division along with Airdrie United who finished second bottom of the First Division.
