Allah Made Me Funny
Allah Made Me Funny are an American stand-up comedy troupe consisting of Bryant "Preacher" Moss, Azhar Usman, and Azeem Muhammad, who was later replaced by Mohammed "Mo" Amer. They are the longest-running artistic collective of Muslim comic performers in the world. History 2003–2007 (formation and early underground work) In December 2003, Preacher Moss founded the act and made the debut at a club in Washington. In 2004, Azhar Usman joined. In May 2004, Moss, Usman and Azeem Muhammad launched a comedy tour titled 'Allah Made Me Funny'. In 2005, Usman explained the rationale behind the troupe's name saying "Well, the word 'Allah'... is actually beautiful. And it is nothing more, nothing less than the Arabic word for God. So Allah Made Me Funny is the Muslim answer to God Made Me Funky." Their show was modeled on Spike Lee's ''The Original Kings of Comedy. Preacher Moss
Bryant Reginald Moss (born 1967), best known by his stage name Preacher Moss, is an American stand-up comedian and writer. He is best known as one third of comedy trio Allah Made Me Funny. Early life Moss was born in Washington, D.C. to African American parents, Clifford Moss and Mary Moss. He began practicing comedy at the age of seven, when he earned the nickname "Preacher" for his imitations of the pastor at his family's church. He was raised Christian in a Maryland suburb and was sent to a local military academy for his schooling. Moss started out doing sketch comedy when he was 17 and by his early 20s he began to make his way to comedy clubs. In 1988, at the age of 20, he converted to Islam. The Global Peace and Unity (often abbreviated as GPU) is a recurring two-day event/festival and conference held at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in Royal Victoria Dock, London, England and organized by the Islam Channel. It is the largest Muslim, interfaith and multicultural event of its kind in Europe. There have been six conferences since its inception.
