"All Through the Night" is a single by Tone Lōc and El DeBarge from Tone Lōc's second album, ''Cool Hand Lōc''. Following the huge success of ''Lōc-ed After Dark'' and two of its three singles (" Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina"), Tone Lōc released his sophomore album ''Cool Hand Lōc''. "All Through the Night", featuring R&B star El DeBarge, was released in advance of its album on October 29, 1991. "All Through the Night" found moderate success, reaching #80 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and #16 on the Rap Songs chart. However, compared to his previous singles, "All Through the Night" failed to live up to expectations. Despite its poor performance in radio and sales, the music video received heavy airplay on MTV and BET. It is his last single to chart. Anthony Terrell Smith (born March 3, 1966), best known by his stage name Tone Lōc (), is an American rapper and actor. He is known for his raspy voice, his hit songs " Wild Thing" and " Funky Cold Medina", for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award, and for being featured in " We're All in the Same Gang", a collaborative single by the West Coast Rap All-Stars. The Brand New Heavies are an English band formed in 1985, consisting of Simon Bartholomew, Andrew Levy, and Jan Kincaid. After the addition of N'Dea Davenport in 1990, the group experienced mainstream success and pioneered a new genre called acid jazz. The Brand New Heavies released their debut self-titled album in June 1990. Eldra "El" Patrick DeBarge (born June 4, 1961) is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He was the focal point and primary lead singer of the DeBarge family, family group DeBarge. "Funky Cold Medina" is a song written by Young MC, Matt Dike and Delicious Vinyl, Michael Ross, and first performed by American rapper, actor and producer Tone Loc, Tone Lōc. It was the second single from Tone Lōc's debut album, ''Lōc-ed After Dark'' (1989). "Wild Thing" is a single by American rapper Tone Lōc from his 1989 album '' Lōc-ed After Dark''. The title is a reference to the phrase "doin' the wild thing," a euphemism for sex. According to producer Mario Caldato Jr., who engineered and mixed the song, producer Michael Ross was inspired by an utterance of Fab 5 Freddy "Come on baby let's do the wild thing" in Spike Lee's '' She's Gotta Have It'', and asked Young MC to write the lyrics.
