''The U.S.-Remix Album: All or Nothing'' is a remix album by Milli Vanilli released in 1989 outside of North America. It contains remixes of tracks from '' All or Nothing'' as well as tracks from the group's North American debut album ''Girl You Know It's True'' that did not appear on ''All or Nothing''. In the United Kingdom, rather than being given a stand-alone release, the album was packaged together with ''All or Nothing'' under the title ''2×2''. ''2×2'' was also released in France, where the remix album was available on its own. ''The U.S.-Remix Album''/''2×2'' had more chart success than ''All or Nothing'' in most territories. It reached #1 in the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand and the top ten in the UK, Germany and several other countries. Milli Vanilli
Milli Vanilli were a German-French R&B duo from Munich. The group was founded by Frank Farian in 1988 and consisted of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. Their debut album, '' All or Nothing'' in Europe, reconfigured as ''Girl You Know It's True'' in the United States, achieved international success and brought them a Grammy Award for Best New Artist on 21 February 1990. They became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with millions of records sold. Isley is the lead singer and founding member of the family music group The Isley Brothers. Charles Shaw (born July 4, 1960) is an American rapper and singer who, in 1988, performed on recordings credited to Milli Vanilli. Controversy Shaw, a U.S. Army veteran, was reportedly paid $6,000 to perform the rap on Milli Vanilli's hit single " Girl You Know It’s True". In December 1989, Shaw disclosed to ''New York Newsday'' writer John Leland that he was one of three singers on Milli Vanilli's hit debut album, and that Milli Vanilli frontmen Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan were impostors. Milli Vanilli producer Frank Farian reportedly paid Shaw $150,000 to retract his statements. Sean Spencer (born October 13, 1968), better known by his stage name DJ Spen or Spen, is an American DJ, record producer, and record executive. Music career Spencer got his start, at the age of 13, as a local DJ in Baltimore, Maryland, making mix tapes for local radio shows and playing parties. In 1983, Spencer started the hip hop group Numarx with Kevin Liles, Rodney "Kool Rod" Holloman, Darryl "Junie Jams" Mims, and Wayne Mallory. Brad Howell is an American keyboardist, pianist and singer, known as the singer who provided the vocals for German band Chilly and the actual vocals lip-synced by Rob Pilatus for the musical duo Milli Vanilli. Career When Howell became a keyboardist and pianist, he appeared on chat shows and other programs featuring music. Frank Farian (born Franz Reuther; 18 July 1941) is a German record producer, musician, singer and songwriter, who founded the 1970s disco-pop group Boney M., the Latin pop band No Mercy and the pop band Milli Vanilli.
