''All of the Above'' is the second studio album by American hip hop artist J-Live. It was released on Coup d'État in 2002. The album cover pays homage to John Coltrane's '' Blue Train''. The album peaked at number 28 on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers Albums chart, as well as number 16 on the Independent Albums chart. Critical reception Brad Haywood of ''Pitchfork'' gave the album an 8.5 out of 10, noting that " -Live'sdelivery is similar to Posdnuos, and his lyrical content is along the same lines: intelligent, educated, confident, and socially conscious." Jean-Jacques Cadet (born February 22, 1976), better known by his stage name J-Live, is an American rapper, DJ, and record producer. Life and career J-Live released his debut studio album, '' The Best Part'', in 2001. It featured production by DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Prince Paul. In 2002, his second studio album, '' All of the Above'', was released on Coup D’état. It has sold 30,000 copies. J-Live's third studio album, ''The Hear After'', was released in 2005. Asheru
Gabriel Benn (born December 29, 1974), better known as Asheru, is an American rapper, educator, and youth activist. He performed the opening and closing themes for the popular TV series, ''The Boondocks''. Early life and music As a youth, Asheru's musical influences were a wide range of hip hop artists as well as Soul, R&B, and Pop from the 1970s and 1980s that his mother used to play. He graduated from high school at 16 and attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated in 1996 with a B.A. in Anthropology.
