All Of A Sudden Peggy
''All of a Sudden Peggy'' is a lost 1920 American silent comedy romance film directed by Walter Edwards and starring Marguerite Clark and Jack Mulhall. It was produced by Famous Players–Lasky and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It is based on a 1907 Broadway play ''All-of-a-Sudden-Peggy'' which starred Henrietta Crosman. It is Clark's third to last film. Director Edwards died in Hawaii that same year of 1920. Plot As described in a film magazine, Peggy O'Hara (Clark) who with her widowed mother Mrs. O'Hara (Leighton) is staying at the manor of Lord Anthony Crackenthorpe (Humphrey), a scientist engrossed in the study of spiders. Mrs. O'Hara is assisting Lord Anthony. The sister of the peer sends for her son Jimmy (Mulhall) because she thinks Peggy has designs on Lord Anthony. Jimmy falls in love with Peggy, and in order to further her mother's love affair with Lord Anthony, Peggy announces her engagement with Jimmy. Walter Edwards (director)
Walter Edwards (January 8, 1870 – April 12, 1920), was an American director, screenwriter and actor. He directed 46 films during his career. Edwards initially work at the Elitch Theatre was as a director in 1896, but he later returned for multiple seasons as an actor in the summer stock cast. "In 1896, Mrs. Elitch signed J. H. Huntley to direct a resident stock company... After six weeks of melodrama, however, and a few unsatisfactory notices, the organization of the company was changed. Huntley, who was not very popular with audiences or with newspaper reviewers, was replaced by Walter Edwards." On July 12, 1896, Edwards started as director and his first play was J. K. Tillotson's ''A Gilded Crime''. The newspaper review stated: "Walter Edwards' presence has strengthened the company materially..." Orral Humphrey
Thomas Orral Humphrey (April 3, 1880 - August 12, 1929) was an American silent film actor and director. Humphrey was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He starred in 46 films between 1914 and 1929 and is credited for directing four films. His younger sister Ola Humphrey was an actress. Humphrey's first film was one of the most popular of 1915, ''The Diamond from the Sky'' in which he starred alongside Lottie Pickford, Charlotte Burton, Jack Hoxie, and other popular actors.
