Katsuya Matsumura
is a Japanese film director and screenwriter known for his violent thriller-horror film series ''All Night Long''. Life and career Matsumura was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1963. After graduating college, he entered the film industry where he worked on documentary films and short documentaries. His documentary on continued pollution in the Doroku area won the grand prize in the Short Film category at the Mainichi Film Concours in 1988. He left documentary film making in 1991 and his first feature film '' All Night Long'' was released in 1992. The film earned him the Best New Director award at the 1993 Yokohama Film Festival. He followed up his first feature with the 1995 horror film ''Concrete-Encased High School Girl Murder Case'', based on a true crime, the 1988 murder of Junko Furuta. Tomorowo Taguchi
is a Japanese actor, film director and musician. After leaving Dokkyo University without graduating, he started to earn his living as an illustrator, writer and pornographic cartoonist. He joined a theatre called Hakken no Kai in 1978 and he made a screen debut in ''Zokubutsu Zukan'' (based on the book by Yasutaka Tsutsui) in 1982. He was also a prominent cult musician in the Tokyo underground scene with his band Bachikaburi in the 1980s and early 1990s. He is probably most well known to the West as the lead actor in '' Tetsuo'' and '' Tetsuo II'' directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. He also makes regular appearances in Takashi Miike's films. Midnight Eye is a non-profit review website launched in 2001 by Tom Mes, Jasper Sharp, and Martin Mes. The website features reviews and analyses of Japanese films, as well as book reviews and interviews with filmmakers. In June 2015, it was announced that no further content would be added to the website. History Editor Tom Mes, alongside his brother, designer and programmer Martin Mes, and fellow editor Jasper Sharp, launched the website in spring 2001. Tom Mes conceived the idea for the website after watching a retrospective of then-recent Japanese films at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2000. In 2004, Tom Mes and Sharp published ''The Midnight Eye Guide to New Japanese Film'', a book about Japanese cinema which includes over 100 reviews of Japanese films, and which features a foreword by Hideo Nakata. is a 1992 Japanese film directed by Katsuya Matsumura. It is the first in a series of six films. Matsumura won an award for best new director at the Yokohama Film Festival for this film. Plot Three teenagers witness the brutal murder of a high school girl by an insane salaryman. The teenagers find themselves united by this event and become friends. Later the teenagers hold a party to take their mind off things. Their party is crashed by a local gang of thugs and one teenager finds his newly found girlfriend being raped. The teenagers deal with the thugs by using extreme violence.
