The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) (Nepali language, Nepali: अखिल नेपाल फुटबल संघ (एन्फा)) is the governing body of football in Nepal. It is responsible for the Nepal national football team, national team as well as club competitions. The organisation was founded in 1951 as the All Nepal Football Association and became affiliated with FIFA in 1972. The current President of ANFA is Pankaj Bikram Nembang. Its current headquarters is located in the ANFA House in ANFA Complex, Satdobato. History Pre-ANFA (1921–1950) The entry and initial start-up of football came in Nepal during the Rana regime in 1921. The game was introduced in Nepal by the young players who had learnt this game from other countries. Games was watched by a huge mass of audience and became very famous at that time. Asian Football Confederation
The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both Territories of the United States, territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC who managed women's association football in Asia. ANFA Cup
The ANFA Cup refers to a series of invitational association football knockout tournaments organised by the All Nepal Football Association. Both National football teams as well as football clubs participated in the past. History Although Nepal had been playing football with the teams of various neighboring countries and friendly countries but the necessity to invite countries for competitive matches in Nepal was realized only in 1979 and hence ANFA cup football match was introduced. In the first match of ANFA cup Kathmandu XI team was the winner which was held in Chaitra. Football is one of the major and the most popular sports of Nepal. It is governed by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). The present acting president of ANFA is Karma Kshiring Sherpa. The current top domestic league is the Martyr's Memorial A Division league. The Nepal national football team represents Nepal in all international competitions. The 36 district-level FAs, various corporations and local government bodies provide most of the assistance that comes ANFA's way, helping Nepalese football's governing body to organise nationwide tournaments all year round for senior clubs and different age groups, thereby maintaining football's position as the number one sport. The A' Division National Futsal League is the professional futsal league in Nepal league organised by ''Turnpike Event Pvt Ltd'' in technical support with All Nepal Football Association, ANFA. It was founded in 2021 and consists of 10 teams. History Background All Nepal Football Association All Nepal Football Association, ANFA announced the creation of 'A' Division Futsal League on 25th January 2021. Nepal National League
The National League (also known as Red Bull National League) is a club-level association football competition in Nepal. The champions secured qualification to a continental cup, previously the AFC President's Cup (now AFC Cup). It took place for two seasons in 2011–12 and 2015. In other years the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League was and still is the highest level league in Nepal, together with franchise based Nepal Super League. Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League ( Nepali: शहीद स्मारक बी डिभिजन लीग) is the second tier of the association football league of Nepal football league system after the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. It was established in 2003 and is run by the All Nepal Football Association.It is currently being held in ANFA Complex. Structure The league is formatted as a single round-robin tournament with the top two team getting promoted to the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League and the bottom two teams relegated to the Martyr's Memorial C-Division League. This structure has not remained constant however as the league structure is changed every year by the All Nepal Football Association.
