All My Loved Ones
''All My Loved Ones'' () is a 1999 Czech-language film directed by Matej Mináč. It was an international co-production between Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was Slovakia's official Best Foreign Language Film submission at the 72nd Academy Awards, but did not manage to receive a nomination. Plot It is the story of an upwardly-mobile Jewish-Czech family before Nazi invasion of Czechoslovakia. After initial denial about the looming danger, the family is unable to find a way out of the country upon realizing the reality of the imminent Nazi threat. An uncle in the family meets Nicholas Winton, the (real life) British humanitarian who, just before the start of the Second World War, organized the rescue of several hundred Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia and likely death in the Holocaust. Matej Mináč (born 1 April 1961) is a Slovaks, Slovak film director. He has directed three films about Nicholas Winton, a British people, Briton who organised the rescue of 669 Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of World War II in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport: the drama ''All My Loved Ones'' (1999), the documentary ''The Power of Good: Nicholas Winton'' (2002), which won an Emmy Award, and the documentary ''Nicky's Family'' (2011). Pearls Of My Childhood
A pearl is a hard, glistening object produced within the soft tissue (specifically the mantle) of a living shelled mollusk or another animal, such as fossil conulariids. Just like the shell of a mollusk, a pearl is composed of calcium carbonate (mainly aragonite or a mixture of aragonite and calcite) in minute crystalline form, which has deposited in concentric layers. The ideal pearl is perfectly round and smooth, but many other shapes, known as baroque pearls, can occur. Marián Labuda
Marián Labuda (28 October 1944 – 5 January 2018) was a Slovak actor. He was born in Hontianske Nemce. In 1964, he graduated from the ''Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava'' (VŠMU). He became a member of the Slovak National Theatre (SND) in Bratislava. In 1967, he moved to the theatre ''Divadlo na Korze'' in the same city. Following its closure in 1971 he joined ''Nová scéna'' in Bratislava. In 1990, he returned to SND. He portrayed more than a hundred characters on stage. He also regularly appeared in both Slovak and Czech films. As a singer, he recorded the album Silvester 68 with several well-known personalities in Slovakia. The song "Pichni" from the album was written and sung by himself. Labuda died in Bratislava on 5 January 2018, aged 73. Krzysztof Kowalewski (20 March 1937 – 6 February 2021) was a Polish actor and comedian. Biography Kowalewski was born to a Jewish mother, actress Elżbieta Herszaft-Kowalewska and Polish father, Cyprian Kowalewski, who was a soldier. His first wife, Vivian, was from Cuba. Krzysztof Marek Kolberger (13 August 1950 – 7 January 2011) was a Polish actor and theatre director. His father's surname was changed from Kohlberger in the 1950s. He had a daughter, actress Julia Kolberger, with ex-wife Anna Romantowska. Life and career Krzysztof Kolberger studied at Warsaw Academy of Dramatic Arts (PWST) and graduated in 1972. Jiří Bartoška (born 24 March 1947) is a Czech theatre, television, and film actor and president of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Josef Abrhám (14 December 1939 – 16 May 2022) was a Czech film and theatre actor. Biography He originally began studying acting at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and later moved to Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he graduated in 1962. While still a student, he played at the National Theatre, after graduation he performed for three seasons at the Vinohrady Theater.
