Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. ''Pedal to the Metal'' is the second album by glam metal and metalcore band Blessed by a Broken Heart and was released on August 18, 2008 in Europe and September 2, 2008 in the US through Century Media. By the time of its release, original rhythm guitarist Robbie Hart and additional guitarist/keyboardist Simon Foxx had been kicked out of the band.
