''All Distortions Are Intentional'' is the fourth studio album by Welsh rock band Neck Deep, released on 24 July 2020 by Hopeless Records. It was produced by Matt Squire and mixed by Seb Barlow. This is the first album to not feature Fil Thorpe-Evans who left in the Fall of 2018, and is the last to feature longtime drummer Dani Washington before his departure in 2022. The band's photographer Joshua Halling recorded bass on all tracks on this album. However, he decided not to join the band full-time in where he returned to being the band's photographer. Billed as a concept album, its story takes place in Sonderland—an exaggerated portrayal of society inhabited by lead characters Jett and Alice, who together deal with issues of love, loss, disillusionment and despair. Neck Deep
Neck Deep are a Welsh pop punk band from Wrexham, Wales formed in 2012. Founded after vocalist Ben Barlow met former lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts, the pair posted a song ("What Did You Expect?") online under the name Neck Deep. The song soon gained attention online, resulting in the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington/Abasi, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. They released a pair of EPs, ''Rain in July'' (2012) and ''A History of Bad Decisions'' (2013), both recorded by Barlow's older brother, before signing with Hopeless in August 2013.
