This list comprises all players who have participated in at least one league match for Vancouver Whitecaps since the USL began keeping archived records in 2003. Players who were on the roster but never played a first team game are not listed; players who appeared for the team in other competitions ( Voyageurs Cup, Open Canada Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, etc.) but never actually made an USL appearance are noted at the bottom of the page where appropriate. This list does not include the NASL Whitecaps players unless they played in US Division 2 which the Vancouver 86ers began play in 1993, nor the MLS Whitecaps players. This list also includes players in the USSF D2 Pro League for the year of 2010. This list cannot be relied upon to include all players prior to 2003, nor Vancouver 86ers players who played in Canada's Division 1 Canadian Soccer League (1987-1992). Vancouver Whitecaps (1986–2010)
The Vancouver Whitecaps were a Canadian professional soccer club based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 1986, the team played its final year in the second tier of the United States soccer pyramid in the NASL Conference of the USSF Division 2 Professional League coached by Teitur Thordarson. The team played its home games at Swangard Stadium in nearby Burnaby, British Columbia. The team's colours were blue and white. On March 19, 2009, an ownership group led by principal Greg Kerfoot was granted a Major League Soccer expansion franchise which began play in 2011 under the name Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Tyler Baldock
Tyler Baldock (born September 21, 1984) is a Canadian former soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. College career Baldock attended Carson–Newman University, where he played for the men's soccer team from 2003 to 2006. With the Eagles, he won four consecutive regular season SAC titles, a tournament title and a regional title. He was a three time All-American, All-Region and All-Conference award winner and earned back-to-back South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honours in 2004 and 2005. He is the Carson-Newman and SAC record-holder for career shutouts with 36, and also holds the school records for career goals against average (0.75) and wins (51). He was set to be inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2021, however, he was unable to attend the ceremony and was later officially inducted in 2023. Gordon Chin
Gordon Chin (; born March 26, 1983) is a Canadian former soccer player. He is of partial Chinese descent. Primarily a midfielder, Chin has played professionally in Canada, England, the United States and China, and has represented Canada internationally at various youth levels, including at the 2003 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Career Youth Chin began playing at the youth level with local sides Metro-Ford Benfica and Metro Burnaby. He trained abroad and had tryouts throughout Europe with teams such as R.S.C. Wesley Charles
Wesley Charles (born 12 December 1975) is a Vincentian footballer. He was born in Brighton. Career Europe Charles spent the beginning of the 2000s traveling Europe. His travels started in Ireland, where he first joined Bray Wanderers in November 2000 after spending two seasons with Sligo Rovers, where he was voted Player of the Year in 2003. In July 2005, Charles signed for Russian Premier League club Rostov on loan for the remainder of their season, with an option to make the move permanent on a two-year contract at the end of it. Rick Celebrini
Rick Celebrini (born October 16, 1967) is a retired Canadian soccer player who is the physiotherapist and head of sports medicine and science for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors. Celebrini played for the Canadian U-20 national team at the 1987 FIFA World Youth Championship. He played professionally for the Vancouver 86ers. John Catliff
John Terrence Catliff (born 8 January 1965) is a Canadian former professional soccer player, who played as a striker. He retired ranked second all-time on the Canadian national team with 18 international "A" goals between 1984 and 1994. In 2012 as part of the Canadian Soccer Association's centennial celebration, he was named to the all-time Canada XI men's team. Club career Catliff was selected to the All-Ivy League First team as a forward in 1983, 1984, and 1986 while playing for the Harvard Crimson. He was also named to the All-American First Team in 1986. Adrian Cann
Adrian Cann (born September 19, 1980) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a defender for Canadian Soccer League club Serbian White Eagles FC. Career College Cann had a college soccer career at the University of Louisville from 2000 to 2003. Cann immediately earned a place in the Cardinals' starting lineup as a freshman, starting 20 games for the team, and was named to first-team All-Conference USA. Cann would maintain this level of performance, being named first-team All-C USA as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and being named the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. Tony Caig
Antony Caig (born 11 April 1974) is an English football coach and former player, who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently the Head of Academy Goalkeeping for Premier League Club Newcastle United. Playing career Caig made his name playing for Carlisle United from 1990 to 1998, some highlights of this time being the penalty saves in the Football League Trophy at Wembley against Colchester United in 1997 and winning the 3rd division championship in 94/95 setting a then clean sheet record. However, in 1998 he was controversially allowed to leave by club owner Michael Knighton before the end-season transfer deadline. He had made 244 league and 40 cup appearances for the club. Tyrell Allen Burgess (born 5 March 1986) is a Bermudian footballer, currently playing for North Village Rams. Career College and amateur Born in Smith's Parish, Burgess began his career at North Village CC, before moving from his native Bermuda to Wilbraham, Massachusetts when he was 16 to attend the Wilbraham & Monson Academy. Gary Brooks (born 8 May 1983 in Kingston) is a Jamaican soccer player. Career Professional Brooks began his professional career in 2002 with the USL First Division with the Virginia Beach Mariners, and went on to play for the Atlanta Silverbacks and the Vancouver Whitecaps before to signing for Crystal Palace Baltimore prior to their inaugural 2007 season.
