All-NBL Canada Team
The All-NBL Canada Team is an annual National Basketball League of Canada honor given to the best players in the league following every NBLC season. It has been presented to a total of fifteen players, divided into three separate five-man lineups, since 2012–13. In the 2011–12 NBL Canada season, the third team was not included. National Basketball League Of Canada
The National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada; french: Ligue nationale de basketball du Canada) is a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. The league has changed in size multiple times and has four active teams for the 2023 season, all in Ontario, but historically has had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically begins in November and ends in April of the following year. The most recent champions are the London Lightning, having defeated the KW Titans 3–0 in the 2022 NBL Finals. Summerside Storm
The Island Storm is an inactive Canadian professional basketball team based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The team is a charter member of the National Basketball League of Canada that began play in the 2011–12 season. The Storm plays its home games at the Eastlink Centre. Former Vermont Frost Heaves head coach Joe Salerno served as the team's head coach for the first six seasons until he parted ways with the team in May 2017. In 2021, the Storm were granted a one-year leave of absence after they were the last remaining team based in the Maritimes. Quinnel Levar Brown (born August 26, 1983) is an American professional basketball player for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). He primarily plays the forward position, but has been known to even guard small forwards and shooting guards. Brown has experience in multiple minor league basketball leagues in North America and has also competed with several different teams around Europe. Elvin Mims
Elvin Mims (born December 23, 1979) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the London Lightning of the NBL Canada. He has previously played in multiple leagues in the United States and in Iceland as well as Canada. Prior to going pro, from 1998 to 2002, Mims played college basketball for Northwest Florida State College and Southern Mississippi University. Antonio Ballard
Antonio Ballard (born April 30, 1988) is an American professional basketball player, who lastly played for ESSM Le Portel of the LNB Pro A. He played with the Summerside and Island Storm from 2012 to 2014 and was named a National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) All-Star in both seasons. Ballard was also the Most Valuable Player of the 2014 game. He played college basketball at Miami University, where he represented the RedHawks. Isaac Butts
Isaac Butts IV (born May 28, 1989) is an American professional basketball player and podcast host who currently plays for Koshigaya Alphas of the Japanese B-League. Isaac played high school basketball at Georgia Military College Prep School until 2007. He averaged 26 PPG and 17 RPG during his senior year. Upon high school graduation, he received a scholarship to attend Appalachian State University. Al Stewart (basketball)
Al Stewart (born September 5, 1983) is an American professional basketball player for the Moncton Magic of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). High school career Stewart attended Manley Academy in Chicago, Illinois, where he played basketball under head coach Bo Delaney. He was a teammate of future NBA player Luther Head. His playing time increased after Head left the team. Stewart was known for being a strong ball-handler and became Manley's top point guard heading into his senior season. Windsor Express
The Windsor Express is a Canadian professional basketball team based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Express are an expansion team of the National Basketball League of Canada that began play in the 2012–13 season. The Express play its home games at the WFCU Centre. History On June 28, 2012, the NBL announced that Windsor had been awarded an expansion team for the 2012–13 season. As the eighth franchise, the league created divisions and placed the Express in the Central Division. On August 1, 2012 the team nickname was officially confirmed. The Express name is partially a tribute to the Underground Railroad and to the rail yards on the banks of the Detroit River. Darren Duncan (born November 11, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the KW Titans of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). Collegiate career Duncan attended Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts and graduated in 2010. He was a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award as a junior. Nick Okorie (born July 22, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Horse Owners Club in Alexandria, Egypt. He played college basketball for South Plains College and Texas Tech. High school career Okorie attended Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, where he played basketball under head coach Ronnie Edwards. He was a member of the team's starting lineup for three years. Devin Antonio Sweetney (born October 23, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for Zob Ahan Isfahan BC of the Iranian Basketball Super League.
