All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship 1995
The 1995 All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship for the leading clubs in the women's team field sport of camogie was won by Rathnure GAA#Camogie, Rathnure (from Wexford GAA#Camogie, Wexford, who defeated Toomevara GAA#Camogie, Toomevara from Tipperary GAA#Camogie, Tipperary in the final, played at Toomevara GAA, Toomevara. Arrangements The championship was organised on the traditional provincial system used in Gaelic Games since the 1880s, witLeitrim Fontenoysanwinning the championships of the other two provinces. Deirdre Hughes scored four goals for Toomevara to defeat Davitts of Galway in the semi-final, the fourth in extra time. Rathnure GAA
Rathnure St Anne's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Rathnure, County Wexford, Ireland. Rathnure's most famous players are the Rackards and Quigley brothers. First AGM At a meeting in Rathnure in the year 1931, Rathnure St Anne's GAA Club was founded. Founder members on that night were Pat Byrne, James O'Leary, Pat Doyle, Thomas Murphy, Nick Mernagh, Denis Brennan and Master O'Rielly. Also on the night, the meeting was attended by two 14-year-old boys Mikey Redmond and Ned Caulfield. Mary Hayden (camogie)
Mary Teresa Hayden (1862 – 12 July 1942) was an Irish historian, Irish-language activist and campaigner for women's causes. Biography Mary Hayden was educated initially at the Dominican College, Eccles Street and then at Alexandra College in Dublin. She attended the Royal University of Ireland where she graduated with a BA (1885) and an MA (1887) in Modern Languages. With Agnes O'Farrelly she campaigned for women's rights in the university. A campaigner for gender equality and noted as a public speaker, she was a prominent member of the Dublin Women's Suffrage Association. She was a member of the Gaelic League and friends with Padraig Pearse. However, she opposed violence and disapproved of the 1916 Easter Rising.
