The 1987 All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship for the leading clubs in the women's team field sport of camogie was won by St Paul’s from Kilkenny, who defeated Glen Rovers by two points in dreadful conditions in the final, played at Ballyragget. St Paul’s Camogie Club
St Paul's is a former camogie club based in Kilkenny city, Ireland, one of the most successful in the history of the game. It won the All Ireland club championship in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1974, 1976, 1987, 1988, and 1989. Background The St Paul's camogie club was formed in 1963 by John Fennelly, Mick Kenny, Jimmy Morrissey and Dick Cassin. 978-1-908591-00-5 The club is the most successful in the history of the All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship with a total of eight victories in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1974, 1976, 1987, 1988 and 1989 They won further Leinster titles in 1966, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1986, 1990 . Sandie Fitzgibbon (born 1964 in Cork) is a former camogie player selected on the camogie team of the century in 2004, and winner of six All Ireland medals in 1982, 1983, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1997. She played for Glen Rovers Club with whom she won four All Ireland Club Championships. She also holds one Colleges All Ireland, three Minor All Ireland, seven National League and two Gael Linn interprovincial medals. She captained Cork to victory in 1992 when they defeated Wexford. Her camogie awards include Munster Young Camogie Player for 1983, National Irish Bank Player of the Year in 1992 and 1995, and twice Jury's Hotel Sports Star of the Month. In 2000, she received the Cork Lord Mayor's Millennium Camogie Award. In 2013, she was given a Northside and District Hall of Fame Award.
