Alistair Spalding
Sir Alistair Spalding (born 25 August 1957, Stotfold, Bedfordshire) has been the Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Sadler's Wells theatre since 2004. Early career Spalding's first job in arts management was at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley, where he was a programmer from 1988 to 1994. Southbank Centre Over six years between 1994 and 2000 Spalding was the Head of Dance and Performance at the Southbank Centre in London where he developed both the presentation and commissioning of national and international dance and performance companies. As well as increasing the number of performances and audience attendance for dance at the centre he developed strong co-producing relationships with a number of national and international companies and artists including DV8, Alain Platel, Jonathan Burrows, Javier de Frutos and Rosas Dance Company. Stotfold
Stotfold is a small town and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England. Stotfold is thought to have gained its name from the northern drovers breaking their journey south at this point on the A1 Great North Road and penning their horses (stots) in enclosures (folds) before continuing their journeys southwards. The River Ivel runs through the town. Stotfold covers and the population at the 2001 census was 6,190. Stotfold is close to the county border with Hertfordshire, and has a Stevenage postcode. In 2010 there was a campaign to have the town absorbed into North Hertfordshire District Council. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui
Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (born 1976) is a Belgian dancer and choreographer and director. He has made over 50 choreographic pieces and received two Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production, three Ballet Tanz awards for best choreographer (2008, 2011, 2017), the KAIROS Prize (2009) and the Europe Prize Theatrical Realities (2018). Early life He was born on 10 March 1976 in Antwerp, Belgium, of a Flemish mother and a Moroccan father. Christopher Wheeldon
Christopher Peter Wheeldon OBE (born 22 March 1973) is an English international choreographer of contemporary ballet. Life and career Born in Yeovil, Somerset, to an engineer and a physical therapist, Wheeldon began training to be a ballet dancer at the age of 8. Jasmin Vardimon
Jasmin Vardimon (born 1971) is an Israeli-born, UK-based choreographer, dancer and artistic director of the Jasmin Vardimon Company, which she formed in 1998 in the UK. Hofesh Shechter
Hofesh Shechter (born 3 May 1975) is an Israeli choreographer, dancer and composer based in London. He is best known for being the founder and artistic director of the Hofesh Shechter Company. Shechter was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Choreography in 2016 for his work on Bartlett Sher's revival of '' Fiddler on the Roof''. Nitin Sawhney , D.Mus (; born 1964) is a British musician, producer and composer. A recipient of the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement award in 2017, among multiple international awards throughout his career. William James Piper Trevitt (born 1969) is a British ballet dancer and choreographer. Early life William Trevitt was born in 1969 in Cambridge. He began dancing aged 6, and trained at the Royal Ballet School, from 11 to 16. Career Dancer Trevitt joined the Royal Ballet aged 18, and was promoted to principal in 1994. Russell Maliphant
Russell Maliphant (born 1961 in Canada) is a British choreographer. He grew up in Cheltenham and trained at the Royal Ballet School and graduated into Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet before leaving to pursue a career in independent dance. As a performer Maliphant worked with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Michael Clark Company, Laurie Booth Company and Rosemary Butcher. He has studied anatomy, physiology, bio-mechanics, and the Rolfing Method of Structural Integration. In April 2000, he received an Arts Council Fellowship.
