Alissa Jordaan
Alissa Jordaan (born 30 June 2003) is an Australian Paralympic athlete. She represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Athletics She is classified as a T47 athlete. She was a member of Northern Suburbs Little Athletics Club in Sydney. At the 2017 World Junior Para-Athletics World Championships in Nottwil, Switzerland, she won the gold medal in Long Jump U18 T42-47, and silver medals in the 100m and 200m (U18 T42-47). In November 2020, Jordaan became the first Australian female T46/47 sprinter to run the 400m in under 60 seconds, clocking a time of 59.69" at the Australian Institute of Sport. In 2019, she was one of five Australian Para-athletes from New South Wales to be the first recipients of the Kurt Fearnley Scholarship. Para-athletics is the sport of athletics practised by people with a disability as a disabled sports, parasport. T47 (classification)
T47 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics primarily for competitors with a below elbow or wrist amputation or impairment. T47 is a classification for track events but unlike the other T40 to T46 classifications it has no equivalent F47 classification for field events. The amputee sports equivalent class is ISOD the A8 class. People in this class can have injuries as a result of over use of their remaining upper limb. Definition This classification is for disability athletics. This classification is one of several classifications for athletes with ambulant related disabilities. Kurt Fearnley
Kurt Harry Fearnley, (born 23 March 1981) is an Australian wheelchair racer, who has won gold medals at the Paralympic Games and 'crawled' the Kokoda Track. He has a congenital disorder called sacral agenesis which prevented fetal development of certain parts of his lower spine and all of his sacrum. In Paralympic events he is classified in the T54 classification. He focuses on long and middle-distance wheelchair races, and has also won medals in sprint relays. He participated in the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympic Games, finishing his Paralympic Games career with thirteen medals (three gold, seven silver and three bronze). He won a gold and silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was the Australian flag bearer at the closing ceremony.
