Alison Smyth (actress)
Alison Smyth is a Canadian actress, singer, and educator. She trained in classical vocal performance at The Glenn Gould School in Toronto. She is a performing artist and member of ACTRA and the Canadian Actors' Equity Association (CAEA). In January 2016, Smyth launched her own performing arts studio: Alison Smyth Performing Arts. The studio provides in-person and virtual personal coaching and group workshops in acting, singing, directing, and mentoring. Smyth became a certified yoga teacher in 2014 through the Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto. The Glenn Gould School
The Glenn Gould School is a centre for the training of professional musicians in performance at post-secondary and post-bachelor levels in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The school was founded in 1987 and renamed in 1997 after the celebrated pianist, Glenn Gould, who was born and lived in Toronto and was an alumnus of The Royal Conservatory of Music. It is considered one of the top music conservatories in North America, and the world. The school is located in the facilities of The Royal Conservatory of Music and is in the Yorkville neighbourhood of Downtown Toronto. It is located adjacent to the Royal Ontario Museum and near the University of Toronto. ''Anne Of Green Gables: The Musical'' is a musical based on the 1908 novel ''Anne of Green Gables'' by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The book was written by Don Harron exclusively, the music by Norman Campbell (director), Norman Campbell and the lyrics in a joint venture by Don Harron, Norman Campbell, Elaine Campbell and Mavor Moore. The musical was Canada's longest-running musical, having been performed annually from its opening in 1965 until 2019, with the planned 2020 and 2021 productions cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meridian Hall (Toronto)
Meridian Hall is a major performing arts venue in Toronto, Ontario, and it is the country's largest soft-seat theatre. The facility was constructed for the City of Toronto municipal government and is currently managed by TO Live, an arms-length agency and registered charity created by the city. Located at 1 Front Street East, the venue opened as the O'Keefe Centre on October 1, 1960. From 1996 to 2007, the building was known as the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts. From 2007 to 2019, it was known as the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. On September 15, 2019, it was re-branded as Meridian Hall. Adam Michael Shankman (born November 27, 1964) is an American film director, producer, writer, dancer, author, actor, and choreographer. He was a permanent judge on season 6–7 of the television program ''So You Think You Can Dance''. He began his professional career in musical theater, and was a dancer in music videos for Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. Jack O'Brien (born June 18, 1939) is an American director, producer, writer and lyricist. He served as the Artistic Director of the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, California from 1981 through the end of 2007. O'Brien has won three Tony Awards and been nominated for seven more, and won five Drama Desk Awards.
