Alison Ada Harris (born 23 July 1965) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician, who served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Central Scotland from 2016 to 2021. Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP; gd, Ball Pàrlamaid na h-Alba, BPA; sco, Memmer o the Scots Pairliament, MSP) is the title given to any one of the 129 individuals elected to serve in the Scottish Parliament. Electoral system The additional member system produces a form of proportional representation, where each constituency has its own representative, and each region has seats given to political parties to reflect as closely as possible its level of support among voters. Margaret Mitchell (Scottish Politician)
Janet Margaret Mitchell (born 15 November 1952) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician. She was a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Central Scotland region from 2003 to 2021. Early life Mitchell was born in Coatbridge and attended Coatbridge High School and Hamilton Teacher Training College. From 1974 to 1990, she worked as a primary school teacher in Airdrie and Bothwell, before studying at the School of Law of the University of Strathclyde, where she graduated with an LL.B. in 1992 and Diploma in Legal Practice in 1993. From 1993 to 1997, she was a non-executive director of Stonehouse and Hairmyres NHS Trust. She has been a Justice of the Peace (magistrate) in South Lanarkshire since 1990. Graham Simpson is a British politician and former journalist who has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Central Scotland region since 2016. A member of the Scottish Conservatives, he served as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity from 2020 to 2021. He was a councillor in South Lanarkshire Council between 2007 and 2017. Falkirk West is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood) covering part of the council area of Falkirk. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the Central Scotland electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole. Falkirk (UK Parliament Constituency)
Falkirk is a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created for the 2005 general election, replacing Falkirk West and part of Falkirk East. At the 2015 general election, it was the seat with the largest majority for the SNP as well as the seat with the largest majority for any party in Scotland. At the 2019 general election it again had the highest numerical majority of any SNP-won seat in Scotland, although other seats, including Aberdeen North, had higher majorities in percentage terms.
