Alison Bell (actress)
Alison Bell is an Australian stage, film and television actress and writer. Early life and education Born in Young, New South Wales and educated in Canberra, she completed an Arts/Law degree at the Australian National University before undertaking an acting course at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she graduated in 2004. Career Bell has worked in television, documentary film and theatre. She is perhaps best known for her performances on the ABC TV series '' Laid'', for which she was nominated for an AACTA Award and in the Sydney Theatre Company's production of ''Doubt'', for which she won a Helpmann Award. Young, New South Wales
Young is a town in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia and the largest town in the Hilltops Region. The "Lambing Flat" Post Office opened on 1 March 1861 and was renamed "Young" in 1863. Young is marketed as the Cherry Capital of Australia and every year hosts the National Cherry Festival. The Green Room Awards are peer awards which recognise excellence in cabaret, dance, drama, fringe theatre, musical theatre and opera in Melbourne. The awards were started in 1982 when Blair Edgar and Steven Tandy formed the Green Room Awards Association. The inaugural awards ceremony was held in 1984 at the Melbourne Concert Hall. ''King Lear'' is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is based on the mythological Leir of Britain. King Lear, in preparation for his old age, divides his power and land between two of his daughters. He becomes destitute and insane and a proscribed crux of political machinations. The first known performance of any version of Shakespeare's play was on Saint Stephen's Day in 1606.
