Alisha's Attic
Alisha's Attic were an English pop duo of the 1990s and early 2000s. The two members were sisters Shelly McErlaine (born Poole) and Karen Poole, born in Barking and Chadwell Heath respectively. Their father is Brian Poole of 1960s group Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. History Karen and Shelly released their first single, "Sugar Daddy", as Keren & Chelle icin 1988, but it failed to chart. Their chart career began with the release of their debut single " I Am, I Feel", which quickly became a radio and chart hit in the UK. This was followed in November 1996 by their entirely self-written debut album '' Alisha Rules the World''. The platinum selling album was produced by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and spawned four top 15 UK hits and substantial success in Europe and Japan. I Am, I Feel
"I Am, I Feel" is a song by British duo and sisters Alisha's Attic, released as their debut single from the album, '' Alisha Rules the World'' (1996). It is written by sisters Karen and Shelly Poole, and produced by Dave Stewart. The single quickly became a radio and chart hit in the UK, peaking at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. A music video was also produced to promote the single. Lyrically, the duo has stated that it is about "a woman rebelling against a man" in a relationship gone bad. It was nominated in the category Best Song Musically & Lyrically at the 1997 Ivor Novello Awards. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Official Charts Company
The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The OCC produces its charts by gathering and combining sales data from retailers through market researchers Kantar, and claims to cover 99% of the singles market and 95% of the album market, and aims to collect data from any retailer who sells more than 100 chart items per week. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Music recording certification is a system of certifying that a music recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). Almost all countries follow variations of the RIAA certification categories, which are named after precious materials (gold, platinum and diamond). The threshold required for these awards depends upon the population of the territory where the recording is released. Red Sky July are a British Alternative country, alternative, Country music, country band, consisting of husband and wife Ally McErlaine (ex-Texas (band), Texas) and Shelly Poole (ex-Alisha's Attic) along with Charity Hair (The Alice Band and The Ailerons). They are influenced by alt country and Americana (music), Americana. They have released three albums since their formation in 2009. Charity Hair was replaced by esteemed vocalist Haley Glennie-Smith. Career Prior to the band entering the studio to record their debut album, the project was put on standby as McErlaine suffered a brain aneurysm. After his recovery, the band reconvened to record the self-titled album. Throughout 2012 the band raised their profile while 2013 marked a return to the live performance. Sugababes
Sugababes are a British girl group composed of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy. The lineup changed three times before returning to the original lineup in 2011. Formed in 1998 by All Saints manager Ron Tom, Sugababes released their debut album '' One Touch'' through London Records in November 2000, which achieved moderate success and produced the top-ten single " Overload". In 2001, Donaghy departed the group and was replaced by Heidi Range.
