Alise Stein-Anvelt
Alise Stein-Anvelt (also Alice Leevald or Alice Levald; 20 October 1900 Vardi Parish (now Märjamaa Parish), Harrien County – 15 April 1991 Tallinn) was an Estonian politician. She was a member of II Riigikogu. She was a member of the Riigikogu since 18 February 1924. She replaced Johannes Reesen. On 22 March 1924, she resigned her position and was replaced by Jaak Nanilson. She was married to Bolsheviks, Bolshevik revolutionary and writer Jaan Anvelt. Märjamaa Parish
Märjamaa Parish ( et, Märjamaa vald) is an Estonian municipality located in Rapla County. It had a population of 7,015 (as of November 2012) and an area of 1,164 km2 (336.54 mi2). Märjamaa Parish was the biggest municipality in Estonia by area. In 2017 it was merged with Vigala Parish and three villages from Raikküla Parish to form a new parish (also named Märjamaa Parish). Harrien County
Harrien County (german: Kreis Harrien, german: Kreis Reval, et, Harju kreis, russian: Revelsky uyezd, russian: Gariensky uyezd) was one of the four counties of the Russian Empire located in the Governorate of Estonia. It was situated in the central part of the governorate (in present-day northern Estonia). Its capital was Tallinn (''Reval''), which was the capital of the governorate as well. The territory of Kreis Harrien corresponds to the present-day Harju County and most parts of Rapla County. Jaan Anvelt
Jaan Anvelt (also known by the pseudonyms Eessaare Aadu, Jaan Holm, Jaan Hulmu, Kaarel Maatamees, Onkel Kaak; in Russian or ; 18 April 1884 – 11 December 1937), was an Estonian Bolshevik revolutionary and writer. He served the Russian SFSR, was a leader of the Communist Party of Estonia, the first premier of the Soviet Executive Committee of Estonia, and the chairman of the Council of The Commune of the Working People of Estonia ( Estonian ''Eesti Töörahva Kommuun''). Imprisoned during Joseph Stalin's Great Purge in 1937, he died from the injuries sustained during a beating by Aleksandr Langfang while in NKVD custody. Early life Anvelt was born to a peasant family in Oorgu, Võisiku Parish (now Viljandi Parish), Kreis Fellin, Governorate of Livonia.
