Alirio Uribe Muñoz
Alirio Uribe Muñoz (b. Alirio Uribe Muñoz in Bucaramanga, Colombia) is a Colombian lawyer and politician. Until 2018, he was the representative to the Chamber of Representatives for Bogotá of the Alternative Democratic Pole. Biography Uribe Muñoz is a recognized human rights defender. Until before his inauguration as a congressman, he served as president of the ''José Alvear Restrepo'' group of lawyers. He was born in Bucaramanga, but from a very young age he has lived in the capital of the country where he studied law at the Catholic University of Colombia, he is also a specialist in Labor Law and industrial relations from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and in human rights from ESAP. He was a judge of the permanent court of peoples in ethical trials against foreign companies for violations of human rights. The Chamber of Representatives (Spanish: ''Cámara de Representantes'') is the lower house of the Congress of Colombia. It has 172 members elected to four-year terms. Electoral system According to the Colombian Constitution, the Chamber of Representatives, currently composed of 166 representatives serving four-year terms, is elected in territorial constituencies, special constituencies and an international constituency. The departments (and the capital district of Bogotá D.C.) each form territorial electoral constituencies (''circunscripciones territoriales''). Humane Colombia ( es, Colombia Humana), formerly known as the Progressive Movement ( es, Movimiento Progresistas), is a Colombian left-wing political movement and party founded in 2011 and led by President Gustavo Petro. The youth wing of the party is known as Juventud Humana (Humane Youth). Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego (; born 19 April 1960) is a Colombian economist, politician, and former guerrilla fighter who is the current president of Colombia since 2022. After taking office, Petro was considered by analysts as Colombia's first-ever left-wing president. At 17 years of age, Petro became a member of the guerrilla group 19th of April Movement, which later evolved into the M-19 Democratic Alliance, a political party in which he was elected to be a member of the Chamber of Representatives in the 1991 Colombian parliamentary election.
