Aline Danioth (born 12 March 1998) is a Swiss World Cup alpine ski racer. She competed at the World Championships in 2019, winning a gold medal in the team event, and was fifteenth in the slalom. Slalom Skiing
Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns. Internationally, the sport is contested at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, and at the Olympic Winter Games. History The term slalom comes from the Morgedal/Seljord dialect of Norwegian language, Norwegian word "slalåm": "sla", meaning "slightly inclining hillside", and "låm", meaning "track after skis". 2020–21 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup was the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition. The inaugural season launched in January 1967, and the season marked the 55th consecutive year for the FIS World Cup. As it had every year since 2006 (when the Sölden races were cancelled by a snowstorm), the season began in Sölden, Austria in October, and it ended with the World Cup finals in March, which were held in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced many changes to the original racing schedule.
