Alina Orlova
Alina Orlova ( lt, Alina Orlovskaja; russian: Алина Орловская, Alina Orlovskaya; pl, Alina Orłowska; born 28 June 1988) is a Lithuanian-Russian sung poetry singer and musician. Origins Alina is of mixed Poles in Lithuania, Polish (father) and Russians in Lithuania, Russian (mother) heritage. Her father, a Poles in Lithuania, Lithuanian Pole was born in Lithuania and mother in Voronezh. Later their families moved to Kazakhstan and lived in the same house. After marriage they moved to Lithuania, to the town of Visaginas which serviced the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, where Alina's father went to work. The town had predominantly Russian population, the Alina's family spoke Russian, but Alina and her brother were sent to the only Lithuanian-speaking school in the town. When asked about her ethnicity (in 2010), Alina said that she did not definitely feel herself Lithuanian or Russian, but that her mentality is definitely Baltic States, Baltic. Visaginas
Visaginas () is the centre of Lithuania's youngest municipality, located on the north-eastern edge of the country. It was built as a town for workers engaged in the construction of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant. Visaginas is the only town in Lithuania where the majority of population speaks Russian as the first language. Originally the aerial view of Visaginas was designed to resemble a butterfly. However, after work on the nuclear power plant was cancelled, so was further construction of the town. Currently Visaginas consists of three residential regions that locals refer to as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Microdistricts. Visaginas has 14 streets. The city grew up in a pine forest by Lake Visaginas. Tourism is currently an area of great potential, as is the possibility of a new nuclear power plant. Ruvim Frayerman
Ruvim Isayevich Frayerman (Руви́м Иса́евич Фраерма́н, 22 September 1891, in Mogilyov, Russian Empire, – 28 March 1972, Moscow, USSR) was a Soviet writer, poet, essayist and journalist. A major component of the Socialist romanticism, Frayerman is best remembered as a children's literature author, whose novel ''Wild Dog Dingo or the Tale of the First Love'' (1939) became a popular Soviet film in 1962. Biography Ruvim Isayevich Frayerman was born in Mogilyov, to a poor Jewish family. In 1916 he enrolled into the Kharkov Technological Institute. A year later, as he was taking industrial practice at the Russian Far East the 1917 Revolution broke out. Frayerman joined the Red partisan unit fighting the Japanese troops nearby Nikolayevsk, then as a commissar travelled through Siberia, helping to maintain the Bolshevik rule in the regions inhabited by Tungus, Nivkh and Nanai people. Francis Healy (born 23 July 1973) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and musician. He is the lead singer and lyricist of the band Travis, having written nearly all of the songs on their first six studio albums and their ninth, with the seventh and eighth being more co-written works. He is based in Los Angeles. Healy released his debut solo album, titled '' Wreckorder'', in October 2010. Early life Born in Stafford, England, Healy grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, his mother's home town. His mother had moved back to Scotland after divorcing her husband. Healy has said that both his mother and his grandmother were major influences on him. Healy attended Holyrood Secondary School in Glasgow. Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, composed of Fran Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dougie Payne (bass guitar, backing vocals), Andy Dunlop (lead guitar, banjo, backing vocals) and Neil Primrose (drums, percussion).
