''Alien'' (stylised as ''A1IEN'') is the fifth studio album by Australian heavy metal band Northlane. It was released on 2 August 2019 through UNFD. It was self-produced by the band themselves and recorded at Chris Blancato's Studio in Sydney, although Marcus Bridge's vocals were recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Arndell Park. The album's second single, "Bloodline", shows the group's continuity of slight departure from their metalcore roots and towards a more Alternative metal, alternative and Experimental music, experimental sound, as established on their previous releases, ''Node (album), Node'' and ''Mesmer (album), Mesmer''. It also marks the group's first shift into different genres, as they blended into the album elements of nu metal, industrial metal and Electronic dance music, EDM. Northlane are an Australian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Sydney, formed in 2009. The band comprises guitarists Jon Deiley and Josh Smith, drummer Nic Pettersen and vocalist Marcus Bridge. Mesmer (album)
''Mesmer'' is the fourth studio album by Australian heavy metal band Northlane. It was released on 24 March 2017 through UNFD, with no announcement prior to the release. It was produced by David Bendeth and recorded at The Barber Shop Studio in Hopatcong. It follows the group's slight departure from their metalcore roots and towards a more alternative and experimental sound, as established on their previous release, ''Node''. It peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It is the last Northlane album to feature their founding bassist Alex Milovic as a member of the band. In 2019, a deluxe edition of ''Mesmer'' was released, which contains instrumental versions of all songs. A double LP vinyl was released, limited to only 450 physical copies worldwide, it was later made available digitally for streaming and download. ''Singularity'' is the second studio album by Australian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Northlane. It was released on 22 March 2013 through UNFD and Distort Entertainment, Distort. This is the last album to feature vocalist Adrian Fitipaldes before his departure in September 2014. It was produced by Will Putney and recorded at The Machine Shop in Belleville. ''Discoveries'' is the debut studio album by Australian heavy metal band Northlane. It was released on 11 November 2011 through UNFD. It was produced by Shane Edwards and Dave Petrovic, and recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Arndell Park. It is the only album to feature their second bassist Simon Anderson before he was "fired" from the band. Background The cube featured on the album art is a "printed out, and origami folded, edited image from the Hubble Space Telescope". Promotion To promote their debut studio album, Northlane performed an 18-date national tour. Kerrang!
''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication ''Mixmag''). It was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the ''Sounds'' newspaper. Named after the onomatopoeic word that derives from the sound made when playing a power chord on a distorted electric guitar, ''Kerrang!'' was initially devoted to the new wave of British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts. In the early 2000s, it became the best-selling British music weekly. History ''Kerrang!'' was founded in 1981. The 2020 AIR Awards was the fourteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 1 October 2020 in Adelaide. The nominations were revealed on 7 July 2020, consisting of sixteen categories, up four from twelve, as was the case in 2019. ARIA Award For Best Hard Rock Or Heavy Metal Album
The ARIA Music Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987.
