Alice Monaghan
Alice Zoe Monaghan (born 20 March 2000) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Hampshire, Southern Vipers and London Spirit. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She previously played for Oxfordshire, as well as Yorkshire Diamonds and Loughborough Lightning in the Women's Cricket Super League. Early life Monaghan was born on 20 March 2000 in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Domestic career Monaghan made her county debut in 2016, for Hampshire against Somerset in a Twenty20 Cup match. In her first County Championship match that same season, she hit what remains her List A high score, of 43 *. She was part of the Hampshire side that gained promotion from Division 2 of the County Championship in 2017, and subsequently won Division 1 the following season in 2018. Basingstoke ( ) is the largest town in the county of Hampshire. The Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL), known as the Kia Super League (KSL) for sponsorship reasons, was a semi-professional women's Twenty20 cricket competition in England and Wales operated by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The competition featured six franchise teams, partnered with a variety of county teams and boards and universities, and was envisaged as a means to bridge the gap between amateur domestic cricket and the increasingly professional international game. 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy
The 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the first edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket domestic competition, which took place between 29 August and 27 September 2020. It featured eight teams in two groups, and had a final. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe-Flint, who died in 2017. The competition was won by Southern Vipers, who beat Northern Diamonds in the final. Background and format The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was a 50-over cricket tournament created in 2020 so that English women's cricket could be played in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2019 Women's Cricket Super League, or 2019 Kia Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the fourth and final season of the Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL), the semi-professional women's cricket competition in England and Wales. The competition, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), consisted of six franchise teams playing in a Twenty20 format. The tournament was scheduled to be replaced by the Women's Hundred and a new regional domestic structure from the next season, although the full implementation of this was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. South Central Counties Cup
The South Central Counties Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Southern Vipers regional team for the six counties that make up the team's region in the South of England, its first edition took place in 2022. Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Sussex are the six teams that take part in the competition. Following the end of the Women's County Championship in 2019 and the launching of the new regional structure for domestic women's cricket in England in 2020, county sides were left without any 50-over cricket. Staffordshire Women Cricket Team
The Staffordshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Staffordshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Tunstall Road, Knypersley and are captained by Stephanie Butler. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the West Midlands regional side Central Sparks. The 2017 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 21st cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from April to August and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions.
