Alice Miller (psychologist)
Alice Miller, born as Alicija Englard (12 January 1923 – 14 April 2010), was a Polish-Swiss psychologist, psychoanalyst and philosopher of Jewish origin, who is noted for her books on parental child abuse, translated into several languages. She was also a noted public intellectual. Her book ''The Drama of the Gifted Child'' caused a sensation and became an international bestseller upon the English publication in 1981. Her views on the consequences of child abuse became highly influential. Alice Miller (golfer)
Alice Miller (born May 15, 1956) is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1978 and won eight LPGA Tour events, including one major championship, during her career. Amateur career Miller was born in Marysville, California. She played on the Marysville HS golf team the first year that golf became coed. She was scouted by Arizona State golf coach. She attended Arizona State University and played on the 1975 AIAW National Collegiate Championship team. Professional career Miller joined the LPGA Tour in 1978. Between 1983 and 1991 she won eight titles on the tour, including one major championship, the 1985 Nabisco Dinah Shore. She also had her highest finish on the money list that year, when she placed third. She served as president of the LPGA Tour in 1993. She retired from the LPGA Tour after the 1998 season. Alice Miller (pilot)
Alice Miller () an Israeli pilot who successfully sued the Israeli military for the right to enlist in the pilot's academy. Biography Miller, a native of South Africa, migrated to Israel at the age of 6. While attending high school in Tel Aviv, Miller began to complain about the Israeli Defense Force refusing women the ability to try out for combat roles despite the compulsory military service. By age 22, she was completing a degree in aerospace engineering from the Technion while on deferment from the army and had already received a civilian pilot's license from South Africa. Miller would apply for the pilot's academy in November of 1993 and proceeded to sue the government for discrimination when they rejected her. She sued the military for the right to take the qualification test, ultimately opening combat roles for women; among her arguments she cited female combatants in the Israeli War for Independence, some of which who would later serve as pilots.
