Cease And Desist (song)
"Cease and Desist" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Alice Glass, released on 23 January 2018 through Loma Vista Recordings, Loma Vista. The song was written by Glass, Jupiter Keyes and Luwayne Glass, and produced by Keyes and Dreamcrusher. Release "Cease and Desist" was released on 23 January 2018 through Loma Vista Recordings, and is the first new material Glass released since her Alice Glass (EP), eponymous debut EP (2017). The track came after former bandmate Ethan Kath denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by Glass, and confirmed that he was seeking legal action against her. In a press release, Glass stated: This song is a call to arms for all survivors. But being a survivor often means feeling afraid, it means sometimes feeling worthless, like you can’t go on. We need to fight back against those who have victimized us and against the feelings that tell us to give up inside. Sometimes we think we deserve the pain others have inflicted on us. This song is what ...

Alice Practice
''Alice Practice'' is the debut EP from Crystal Castles, released on Merok Records on 9 July 2006. The release was limited to 500 copies on 7" vinyl and sold out in three days. The title track, "Alice Practice", was claimed to be a soundcheck secretly recorded by the sound engineer before the band launched into a five-song recording session in 2005. This story has since been denied by Alice Glass, who claimed that this was untrue and that Ethan Kath fictionalised the story to minimise her input into the band. Crystal Castles later performed "Alice Practice" on an episode of the British television series '' Skins''. After being featured on the show, demand for the ''Alice Practice'' EP grew rapidly. The song was released on 11 January 2018 as the second single from Glass' eponymous debut EP, ''Alice Glass'' (2017). Composition According to Alex Robert Ross of ''Noisey'', "Forgiveness" is "a palpitating bit of dark-pop, full of claustrophobic lyrics, built on this line: "Four walls holding me / Cold eyes haunting me."" He later noted, "It's difficult not to read that as a chunk of autobiography and a comment on Ethan Kath, whom Glass has accused of a pattern of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse towards her while the two were in Crystal Castles." ''Dazed'' described the song as "an industrial-pop thumper driven by a chugging electronic bassline." Glass stated that the song is about "rejecting the idea of forgiveness," continuing: "Forgiveness isn't always a moral act, the way some religions portray it. So ...

There are also themes of losing yourself, being told how to be, what to say ('tell me what to spit'). The garden vines are a metaphor for this." She wrote that she was inspired for this video by the works of the ceramic artist Jessica Cooper. Critical reception ' ...
