This is a list of characters in ''One Thousand and One Nights'' ( ''The Arabian Nights''), the classic, medieval collection of Middle-Eastern folk tales. Characters in the frame story Scheherazade Scheherazade or Shahrazad ( fa, شهرزاد}, ''Šahrzād'', or , ) is the legendary Persian queen who is the storyteller and narrator of ''The Nights''. She is the daughter of the kingdom's vizier and the older sister of Dunyazad. Against her father's wishes, she marries King Shahryar, who has vowed that he will execute a new bride every morning. For 1,001 nights, Scheherazade tells her husband a story, stopping at dawn with a cliffhanger. This forces the King to keep her alive for another day so that she could resume the tale at night. Ali Baba Taj
Ali Baba Taj ( ur, علی بابا تاج) is an Urdu, Persian and Hazaragi poet, based in Quetta, Pakistan. He is known for his use of nazm style in Urdu poetry. He received his Master's Degree in Persian language and literature from the University of Balochistan, Quetta in 2003. He has written several articles in Urdu and Persian regarding poetry and literature. World Poetry Festival Ali Baba Taj represented Pakistan in the World Poetry Festival held in Kolkata, India in 2008. He also attended the second Daryanagar poetry fair at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh in 2010. Visits for Cultural and Peace mission Ali Baba Taj has visited India several times for academic and literary purposes. His aim on these visits is to foster love and peace in humankind, especially between the people of Pakistan and India. The Ali Baba (or magic carpet) is a type of amusement ride consisting of a stationary horizontal gondola with a 360 degree swinging pendulum. Design A single stationary tower is attached to a base, or portable trailer with outriggers. Attached to the stationary tower is a swinging arm that moves with the push of a 64KW drive motor. Fixed to both sides of the swinging arm is an opposite propulsion conduction system via two drive shafts that run from the connection point of the stationary tower and swinging arm, to the connection point where the swinging arm attaches to the passenger gondola, which keep the passenger gondola upright. On the other end of the swinging arm is a counter weight, usually with the ride's name as an illuminated sign fixed to it. Ali Baba is a large crater in the northern hemisphere of Saturn's moon Enceladus. Ali Baba was first discovered in ''Voyager 2'' images. It is located at 55.1° North Latitude, 22.3° West Longitude and is 39.2 kilometers across. It is located near the craters Aladdin and Samad. Ali Baba has a large dome in its interior, suggesting the crater has undergone viscous relaxation. The top of the dome even reaches higher than the crater rim. Ali Baba is a term describing business practices in Malaysia and Indonesia involving indigenous and non-indigenous cooperation to take advantage of affirmative action provisions favouring indigenous Malays or Native Indonesians. Arteen Ekizian (September 28, 1901 – November 16, 1981), better known by the ring name Ali Baba, was an Armenian American professional wrestler and World Heavyweight Championship (Original), World Heavyweight Champion who was active in the early portion of the twentieth century. Early life Ekizian was born in Samsun, Ottoman Empire. During the Armenian genocide, his father and younger brother were murdered and Ekizian was sold as a slave to Arabs. After four years of hard labor, he escaped and moved to the United States in 1920 with help from his uncle Garabed in Massachusetts. Mircea Constantin Demetriade (; also rendered as Demetriad, Dimitriade, Dimitriadi, or Demitriadi; September 2, 1861 – September 11, 1914) was a Romanian poet, playwright and actor, one of the earliest animators of the local Symbolist movement.
