Alianza Cotopaxi S.C.
Club Deportivo Independiente Juniors, known as Independiente Juniors or formerly as Alianza Cotopaxi, is a football club based in Sangolquí, Ecuador. The club acts as Independiente del Valle's reserve team. History Founded on 13 July 2017 as Alianza Cotopaxi SC in Cotopaxi, the club reached the Segunda Categoría after finishing second in the regional championships. In the following year, the club reached an agreement with Independiente del Valle to become their reserve team, and reached promotion to the Ecuadorian Serie B at the end of the year, after having the core of the 2018 U-20 Copa Libertadores. After the promotion to the second division of Ecuadorian football, the club changed name to Club Deportivo Independiente Juniors, and moved to Latacunga. In 2020, the club moved to Sangolquí, joining the first team which was already in the city. Estadio Banco Guayaquil, sometimes known as Estadio Independiente del Valle, is a football stadium in Quito, Ecuador. It is currently used on club level by owner Independiente del Valle and their reserve team Independiente Juniors. The stadium has a capacity of 12,000 spectators. History Independiente del Valle's project to build a stadium was revealed by his general manager Santiago Morales in October 2019. The construction of the stadium started in October 2020, and the club presented the name of the stadium on 18 February 2021, after being sponsored by Banco Guayaquil. Latacunga
Latacunga (; Quechua: Latakunga) is a plateau town of Ecuador, capital of the Cotopaxi Province, south of Quito, near the confluence of the Alaquez and Cutuchi rivers to form the Patate, the headstream of the Pastaza. At the time of census 2010 Latacunga had 98,355 inhabitants, largely mestizo and indigenous. Latacunga took its independence from Spain on November 11, 1820. Latacunga is an hour and half south from Quito on the Pan-American Highway. It was previously also on the old road from Quito to Guayaquil, and has a railway station between those cities. It is 9, 383. 2  ft (2,860 m). above sea level. Its climate is cold and windy, due to the neighboring snowclad heights, and the barren, pumice-covered tableland on which it stands.
