Ali Said Hassan
Ali Said Hassan ( so, Cali Saciid Xasan, ar, علي سعيد حسن) (born 1950) is a Somali film producer, director, former photojournalist and archive collector. Early life Hassan graduated from the Sapienza University of Rome. He initially worked on the Somali film ''Dan iyo Xarago''. Between 1979 and 1983, he served as a representative of the Somali Film Agency in Rome. The SFA had been established a few years earlier in 1975 as an adjunct to the Ministry of Information and National Guidance. Hassan directed and produced educational films and facilitated life skill programs for higher education. In this capacity, he produced films about sustainable agricultural policy projects such as the “Ku Baahi baxa Beeraha” or “Ka Faa’ideyso Kaluunka”. Cape Guardafui ( so, Gees Gardafuul, or Raas Caseyr, or Ras Asir, it, Capo Guardafui) is a headland in the autonomous Puntland region in Somalia. Coextensive with Puntland's Gardafuul administrative province, it forms the geographical apex of the Horn of Africa. Its shore at 51°27'52"E is the second easternmost point on mainland Africa after Ras Hafun. The offshore oceanic strait Guardafui Channel (or ''Marinka Gardafuul'') is named after it. Yusuf Garaad Omar ( so, Yuusuf Garaad Cumar, ar, يوسف جراد عمر) (born 26 June 1960 in Mogadishu) is a Somali journalist, diplomat and politician. He previously served as Somalia ambassador to the United Nations and was a senior advisor to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. He was the Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs from March 2017 until he was fired by then Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire in January 2018. Early life and education Omar was born on 26 June 1960 in the Hamar Jajab district of Mogadishu, Somalia. He attended high school in the capital. Omar later studied French at the Somali National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics. He is the founder of Olol Films, a production company at the forefront of the Somaliwood movement within the Somali film industry. Personal life Aato was born in the '70s in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. After the civil war broke out in the early 1990s, he fled to Kenya in 1993, where he lived in a refugee camp near Mombasa for over three years.
