Ali-Breeze King (born 6 February 1977) is an Australian politician. She has been the Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), Labor Party member for Electoral district of Pumicestone, Pumicestone in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2020. She stood as a Labor candidate for the seat of Electoral district of Maiwar, Maiwar in the 2017 Queensland state election, but was unsuccessful. The Parliament of Queensland is the legislature of Queensland, Australia. Simone Marie Wilson (born 20 February 1976) is an Australian politician. She was the Liberal National Party member for Pumicestone in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2017 to 2020. Following her entrance to state parliament, Wilson supported Deb Frecklington in her successful bid to become leader of the LNP and therefore the Opposition. The Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), commonly known as Queensland Labor or as just Labor inside Queensland, is the state branch of the Australian Labor Party in the state of Queensland. It has functioned in the state since the 1880s. History Trade unionists in Queensland had begun attempting to secure parliamentary representation as early as the mid-1880s. William McNaughton Galloway, the president of the Seamen's Union, mounted an unsuccessful campaign as an independent in an 1886 by-election. A Workers' Political Reform Association was founded to nominate candidates for the 1888 election, at which the Brisbane Trades and Labor Council endorsed six candidates. The Legislative Assembly of Queensland is the sole chamber of the unicameral Parliament of Queensland established under the Constitution of Queensland. Elections are held every four years and are done by full preferential voting. Electoral District Of Maiwar
Maiwar is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland, incorporating the inner western suburbs of Brisbane. It was created in the 2017 redistribution, and was first contested at the 2017 Queensland state election. The electorate name is stated by the Government as being named based on an aboriginal name of the Brisbane River, however it is not the name that the Turrbal people who lived in the Brisbane region had for the river. The Brisbane River forms the southern boundary of the electorate. It largely replaces areas of the abolished districts of Mount Coot-tha and Indooroopilly, north of the Brisbane River. Maiwar consists of the suburbs of Mount Coot-tha, Bardon, Auchenflower, Toowong, Taringa, Indooroopilly, St Lucia and Fig Tree Pocket. The 2017 Queensland state election was held on 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland. The first-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, won a second term in government. Sonya Kilkenny (born 15 May 1969) is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since November 2014, representing the Electoral district of Carrum.
