Ali Khodadadi ( fa, علی خدادادی, July 13, 1946 – June 9, 2011) was a carpet weaver and manufacturer from Iran, who was known for his work Boostan. Biography Khodadadi was born in Shahreza, Iran Iran, officially the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also called Persia, is a country located in Western Asia. His father was a carpet manufacturer and tradesman, and his mother assisted her husband with his work. Khodadadi was very fond of painting and designing and, upon completion of high school, chose to pursue his artistic talent in the field of Persian rug weaving. In order to gain experience as an artist, he worked for two years as an apprentice under great masters, such as Master Zarrinkelk and Master Khaknegar. ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 common era, CE) was the last of four Rashidun, Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia Islam, Shia and Sunni Islam, Sunni groups. Ali was assassinated in the Grand Mosque of Kufa in 661 by the forces of Mu'awiya I, Mu'awiya, who went on to found the Umayyad Caliphate. Boostan
Boostan ( fa, بوستان, , Garden), formerly exhibited as Carpet to the Throne ( fa, با فرش تا عرش, link=no), is a Persian carpet woven by Master Ali Khodadadi and is considered to be a masterpiece in the history of Persian art. About Boostan Master Khodadadi began the work of designing and weaving Boostan in March 1978. The design was described and dictated by Mr. Khodadadi and drawn by the late Master Archang Esfahani over the course of two months. Weaving began with a pile 7 centimeters thick (wool strands 7 centimeters long) and was completed in October 1979. The most important stage, and that which contributed the most to the artistic value of the carpet, the scissors work, was begun in November 1979 and completed in January 1986.
