Ali Ishaqi
Ali Muhammad Issa Abdullah Ishaqi ( ar, علي محمد عيسى عبد الله إسحاقي) is a Bahraini politician and sportsperson. He was sworn into the Council of Representatives on December 12, 2018 to represent the Tenth District of the Capital Governorate. Sports career Ishaqi was elected president of the Bahrain Handball Federation and is a member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. In 2013, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Asian Handball Federation. In 2017, he was elected the Asian Handball Federation’s Vice-President. He played for the Bahrain men's national handball team during a period in which they qualified for the World Men's Handball Championship four times: 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019. They also finished as runner-up in the Asian Men's Handball Championship in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018. He won two medals at the Asian Games, including a silver in 2018 and a bronze in 2014. Council Of Representatives (Bahrain)
The Council of Representatives (''Majlis an-nuwab''), sometimes translated as the "Chamber of Deputies", is the name given to the lower house of the Bahraini National Assembly, the national legislative body of Bahrain. The council was created by the 2002 Constitution of Bahrain and consists of forty members elected by universal suffrage. 2017 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017. France, in a clean sweep, defended their title by defeating Norway 33–26 in the final, which secured France their sixth title. Slovenia defeated Croatia 31–30 to capture the bronze medal. Norway (from a wildcard) and Slovenia earned their first World Championship medals ever. The championship set a record of attendance in total of 540,000 spectators with 23 matches being sold out and with a venue record of 28,010 at both of France's knock-out matches in Lille. 2017 Men's Youth World Handball Championship
The 2017 IHF Men's Youth World Championship was the seventh edition of the U-19 tournament and held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 8 to 20 August 2017. The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation.
