Alfredo Salomón Ruano Safie (14 October 1932 – 18 July 1987) was a famous football player from El Salvador who played as a forward. Club career Ruano was part of the successful Alianza team of the early 1960s when he played alongside Salvador Mariona and Roberto Rivas among others. International career Nicknamed ''Baiza'', Alfredo Ruano participated in many tournaments throughout his career with El Salvador, such as the CCCF Championship, CONCACAF Championship, and Central American and Caribbean Games. He played in the 1954 Central American and Caribbean Games winning team alongside other Salvadoran football greats as Juan Francisco Barraza. El Salvador (; , meaning " The Saviour"), officially the Republic of El Salvador ( es, República de El Salvador), is a country in Central America. Juan Francisco Barraza Flores (March 12, 1935 – December 17, 1997) was a Salvadoran football player and manager. He is widely regarded one of the best Salvadoran footballers of all time. Career Born in the district of San Miguel as the son of Maria de la Cruz Barraza and Juan de Dios Flores, he attended Dr Antonio Rosales primary school. Early years Barraza began playing soccer in grade school and he joined C.D. Corona when he was eight years old. Due to extreme hardship, he began playing with balls made out of rags. During this very hard period, he discovered three secrets: One, that he was a lefty. Two, that soccer would give him a way to escape poverty. Jorge Alberto González Barillas (born 13 March 1958), popularly known as ''El Mágico'' (The Magical One), is a Salvadoran former footballer who played mainly as a forward. At the club level, he played mainly for FAS and Spain's Cádiz in a 24-year senior career. Dogged by his self-admitted and often-reported lack of discipline, he was often hailed as the greatest and most skilled footballer ever produced by El Salvador, and as one of the greatest players from the CONCACAF region. González represented the El Salvador national team for more than two decades, taking part in the 1982 World Cup and the 1998 Gold Cup.
